Griffin's POV
The day is finally over, I just wanna go home and sleep at this point.
Walking my bike towards the parking lot who do I see? Jackson, his face buried in that book."You ever put that book down?" I say to him jokingly.
"I do actually" he nearly whispered.
"Well it doesn't seem like it. Whenever I see you you are fist deep in that thing. You ever do anything else for fun?"
"Well uh. Of course I do" I sit down next to him.
"Yeah like what?" He tenses up.
"I uh. I like to...." He stumbles his words.
I cut him off and grab his book and stand holding it above my head just out of his reach."C'mon, what are you five? Give it back!" He whined
"Oh lighten up man, how about we make a deal?" I grin.
"What kind of deal?"
"I'll give you your book back if you come see a movie with me"
He seemed to ponder it for a moment. Then,"Yeah sure, lets do it"
"Cool! How about tonight, see you at five?"
"Yeah that sounds good, I'll see you then" he pulls a pen out of his backpack and writes his phone number on my arm. I hand him his book and hop on my bike.
"See you later man" he says
I pop my headphones on and blear some music until I get home.
I get in my house and find it empty. That's good. I get some peace. It was already 3:30 so I just decided to get ready.
I don't consider this is a date, plus I don't really think Jackson is gay nor do I think he knows that I am. So all I'm trying to accomplish is making a friend.
After a quick shower and a change of clothes I hop on my bike and follow the directions Jackson sent to me.
I get there a little late and Jackson is sitting on his porch.
I hadn't really noticed during school because he was constantly hiding behind his book , but Jackson is quite attractive. Short curly brown hair, lean face and big beautiful dark eyes.
He still had a shy demeanor about him, and doesn't look me right in the eyes."Hey" he said awkwardly
"You ready?"
"Yeah"
"Perfect, hop on" he steps onto the pegs of my bike and grabs my waist for support. "Hold on tight" I say and we ride off.
