Jackson's POV

Walking into school together I felt good, I had made a friend.
Although Griff hadn't mentioned last night. I don't think he realized he did it.
So it seemed settled. Neither of us mentioned it. Our sexuality remains our own business.

Just as we'd made it to my locker the guy that was giving me a hard time yesterday came over to me.

"Ah I see the new meat has a boyfriend" I quickly looked down and tried to avoid conflict.

"Aye, fuck you Thomas!" Griff had stepped up and got in his face.

"You'd like that wouldn't you, you little fag"
Griff seemed to snap after that. He grabbed the guys collar and got even closer.

"Listen. I don't want to have to beat the shit out of you, so I suggest you leave my friend and I alone" Griff shoved him back. And he started to step away.

"We'll see who beats who you FAGS" he said as he walked away.

Still tended I open my locker and put my chemistry book in.

"What an asshole" Griff said.

"Yeah"

"I'm not going to let anyone mess with you alright?" He pulled me in for a hug.

"Alright, thanks Griff."

The rest of the day we stayed in constant contact. We joked around in the classes we had together and texted in the ones we didn't.
The day was all in all good. I was kinda tired and was really in the mood to just go home. My mom called and told me she'd be a little bit late to pick me up. So I sat down on the bench near the parking lot and started reading.

Suddenly the book was smacked out of my hands, I look up to find the asshole guy from earlier standing over me.
I stood to go get my book. Like an idiot. He immediately shoved me to the ground.

"I told you I was gonna get you, you faggot" I just laid there.
He started kicking my sides. Got me in my face once too.
I didn't know what to do, I couldn't defend myself. Just then I hear Griff yell.

There was scuffling, I heard punches and Griff yelling. Then the Thomas guy was on the ground.
He started crawling away and got to his feet and disappeared into the parking lot.

I rolled over and Griffin was yelling but I couldn't tell what. My ears were ringing. Then it went black. I passed out.
