*Liam's POV*
"I- uhm." I began unsure of how to form the words that I wanted to say.
"What?" She asked worried. I sighed and opened my mouth. Here we go.
*Flashback*
"Well look who it is. Little Loser Liam." Lily sneered. I had broken up with her and she was angry. We were in ninth grade at the moment and I didn't really fit in much anyways. Yeah sure James liked me but he got picked on just as much. But with Lily it was new she was just angry about the break up.
"Go away Lily." I groaned.
"Awe... Mr. 'I'm such a good singer' is annoyed by me?" She mocked me. "Singing is gay. Doesn't surprise me." She said. I clenched my jaw and turned around.
"How about you shut up before I make you!" I yelled. Heads turned at me and people were gasping.
"So you'd hit a girl huh? Well it wouldn't be a bad thing since you are one. I mean look at your hair, you clothes. You scream queer so much." She said. I had it then and I grabbed her by the arms shoving her up to a locker. She gasped.
"Shut. Up." I said through clenched teeth.
"Alright alright just... Let me go." She said scared. I let her go slamming my locker right by her head and backing away. I walked to my next class putting my head down. The rest of the day no one bothered me. I walked out front and decided to walk home. I walked down the sidewalk only to be jumped by a few kids that were there for Lily. Of course. I got a final kick to my side.
"Touch her again you gay freak and it'll be worse. You know our family isn't safe kid." He growled. I looked up to see a man around 20. He helped me up and made me walk the other way. "And kid!" He yelled. I looked over my shoulder. "I mean that." He said. I walked home and acted as if I was fine. I went to my room and collapsed. I stared at my ceiling.
I wasn't bothered by Lily after that so I didn't bother her. I made it through the next two years. Then I became famous.
*End Flashback*
"That night when they came at me with all that stuff I got scared. Lilly's always wanted to get back at me on her own. She even made George let off of me. I didn't know what she wanted but I wanted her to think I left and she ended up hurting me anyways." I said tears streaming down my face.
"Why didn't you say anything before she came around?" Makayla asked.
"I didn't want to worry about it." I said.
"So you were more worried about your safety?" She asked and I furrowed my brows.
"How... Where did that come from?" I asked.
"When George asked me to 'watch my back' you knew exactly what he meant didn't you?" She asked angrily.
"Makayla I-" I started.
"You knew and you didn't do anything at all Liam! You just waited. I can't believe this!" She said.
"Makayla list-"
"And to think you really cared Liam. You really really cared about me huh?" She cut me off pacing the room.
"And who the hell was the one lying in the hospital bed after Makayla!?" I yelled and she cringed. I didn't want to yell at her. I knew it scared her when I did. "Sorry..." I trailed.
"No. No I was wrong I'm sorry. I'm just being stubborn and selfish Liam." She said leaning against the wall across the room. Just then the door opened.
"Is everything alright? I heard someone yell." Amelia said.
"I-" I started but Makayla spoke first.
