*Liam's POV*

After I admired a few more of Makayla's drawings I was really tired and walked into the guest bedroom and practically fell into sleep. I felt happier than I had for the past couple days since I've been home because everything has been going better for me despite breaking up with Danielle. Of course I missed her and all but I just didn't want to be sad about it anymore. So I wasn't going to be. A small rumble of thunder woke me up. I looked at the time on my phone. It was about 8 o'clock. I rubbed my eyes sitting up the cold air hitting my shirtless body. I grabbed a shirt quickly throwing it over my head. I stood up and walked out the door. It was a little quiet but peaceful. Both Makayla and Matt's doors were open so I'm guessing both of them were up. I walked quickly down the steps finding the siblings in the kitchen. Makayla was drawing and Matt was eating a piece of toast. Makayla looked up moving her hair behind her ear.

"Morning!" She said smiling at me.

"Good morning." I smiled back sitting down next to her glancing at her sketchpad. "What is it?"

"I'm not sure." She shrugged focusing back on the drawing. I laughed at her response.

"Hungry?" Matt said to me then. I shook my head. "Mm. Power went off again. I had to make my toast in the oven." (A/N: It's a gas oven. Duh I'm not stupid!)

"Was there anymore damage?" I asked.

"Yeah. A tree fell on the school destroying only one corner of it but it's enough not to send the kids back to school. And I mean for the rest of the year. At least she won't have school on her birthday." Matt chucked.

"When is it?" I asked Makayla.

"May 30th." She responded nonchalantly as if she didn't care.

"That's in like…"

"5 weeks. I'll be seventeen." She said again in a nonchalant manner.

"She does't like her birthday." Matt explained. I was gobsmacked. How can you not like your birthday?

"Since we're discussing birthdays… Matt what do you want for yours?"

"Mine isn't until July!" Matt said.

"Mine's in August. People are already asking me what I want!" I said chipping in.

"Oh well." Makayla laughed.

"What do you want for yours?" I asked her.

"Nothing." She said simply.

"You have to want something." I said disbelievingly. She shook her head.

"Okay… So what are we doing today." Both Matt and Makayla shrugged.

" I just want to draw." Makayla said. She smiled and showed me what she was working on. This time I could tell what it was. She once again had drawn me. It made me happyShe turned back another page. It was me again. She had drawn four of me with different expressions. There was concerned, happy, sad, and concentrated.

"When did you… draw all of these?" I asked almost breathlessly. She blushed.

"Well this morning." She said quietly.

"Why me?" I asked surprised she seemed only interested in drawing me.

"I don't know. You're just… Inspiring to draw. Every expression is just so different to capture. It's interesting in a way." She said as if she were dreaming. I felt a nervousness in my stomach. Something I've felt before. The same thing I'd felt with Danielle. I couldn't say anything afraid that nothing would come out. I felt heat rise in my cheeks and I scratched the back of my neck. Be cool Liam. Be cool.
