After a satisfying breakfast, Hiccup and Toothless were now ready to continue on the journey. Edge had gone to scout ahead and came back shortly. He had secretly taken some fried fish they had cooked earlier. Edge was now full and had scouted the safest way to get to the other side. All they had to do was take the woods and follow the river. It would lead to the ocean. That was simplest way. Edge only went to "scout" so he could eat in peace and with his mask off. He had let the fresh air touch his face and he inhaled the fresh air in. It was always great to have a nice fresh breeze touch your face, especially when Edge always kept his mask on. He trusted Hiccup and Toothless, he just didn't want to be seen by Drago or anyone of his thugs. He wouldn't put Hiccup and Toothless in danger. So he would just dress their wounds and they'd be on their way back home. They surely needed him, he was the Chief! He mattered and he had a family. Something Edge would never have again. He'd never have a family of his own to call his or a place to call home or for that reason that he mattered. What Edge wanted more than anything was a family. He imagined looking at his children seeing his reflection in them. He taking part in their own lives. He would imagine seeing him and his wife, in their eyes, their hair, their personality. Edge looked to the ground, that would never happen. He'd never be able to wake up and feel. . .different. Like his past would never let him go and be free. Only one thing could give him that feeling of being free: flying. Flying was everything. His world, the only thing that mattered to him other than what was waiting for him back at home. Or what he called home, after loneliness and sadness stole the show. Edge felt alone. He hadn't felt this important since "the test". He didn't prove his loyalty to Drago. Now he had to help a chief and his Night Fury, survive here in the woods. He shook those feelings off and went to meet up with Hiccup and Toothless. The only thing was that they were gone. Poof. They disappeared. They were here just a minute ago. How could a Night Fury and an injured, scrawny auburn haired boy, disappear from this very spot in less than 15 minutes? How? Edge looked around. There were trees everywhere. Looking left then right, but it seemed all the same.

"Hiccup! Toothless! Where are you?" Edge called out as his voice echoed.

He probably shouldn't of done that, it might if given away his position, but he needed to know Hiccup and Toothless were ok or else saving him would of been for nothing. He walked down a path of trees, calling their names.
