"Oh my Goddess." I gasped clutching to my heart as if that would take the lingering pain away. Tears streamed down my face non-stop, and I couldn't help but sob. I felt helpless, I felt hopeless. A huge part of me had died. While I was out having fun with Chase, my package was being slaughtered for the second time in history. I left them weak and vulnerable. I pulled their Alpha along with me, all the lives lost today were my fault. I walked into the mess that was dead bodies and inspected them closely, they were mostly men, and some women warriors. Meaning that hopefully the women and children were safe.
"I have to find my mother." I said in a hard, choked voice. "What will she do?" Chase growled and I realized that he had his block up again. I felt his rage, and hate boiling inside of him and I felt as if it were directed towards me. "She's a witch, she-she said that we were cursed, that our pack was cursed, and that she could bring them back right? They'll come back as witch, demon, vampire, werewolves, but they'll be alive right?" I panicked bending down to close the eyes of a warrior, Derek was his name. I wiped the sweet off of my face and ended up smearing blood on my face and freaking out even more.
"It's a cursed, why would they want that?" He asked rudely and I sobbed even louder. "They have children, they have lives, Chase. How could I do this to them?" I sobbed crying on Derek's chest. "You didn't do this, Paris." Chase said and his tone had calmed. He placed a hand on my shoulder as I wailed. "I abandoned my duty as the Alpha female, and I left them vulnerable. This is my fault, I pulled you away from them." I cried not caring that I was sitting in a pool of blood. "I recommended that we go run, we would have still been here if--" Someone's coughing got both of our attention. I quickly crawled over to the source and it was a pack warrior, Lucas and his warrior mate, Emily. "Oh my Goddess, how are you guys alive? Let's go, we need to get you to the infirmary." I picked Emily up bridal style and starting running back to the pack mansion. Chase was right behind me with Lucas when we got there. "Where's the doctor?" I yelled after laying them down on separate beds. "Mind-link them, Paris." Chase said getting alcohol and things. 'Dr. Adams, we need you to the infirmary NOW! Whichever warriors we have watching over the women and children, we need ten guys on the fighting grounds, now. The rest will stay until we deem it clear. Send Chase and My's mother and the Alpha's.' I commanded through the link, and a few seconds later the pack doctor was busting into the room with his elite students. Chase and I headed back to the fields.
"Find everyone who is still breathing. If they're breathing immediately take them to the infirmary, if they're not, respectfully move them to the gates." Chase said not having to use his Alpha tone. Everyone knew that we were not to be messed with. It was a gloomy mood over everyone, and the sky was still dark. I felt like such a failure no matter what anyone said. It was my second day as Luna and a massacre occurred, and we had no clue as to who did it. "There are more alive than dead, and it was only forty of our warriors, there are ten dead." Dillon, a young very handsome pack warrior informed me. Which wasn't good, but it meant that we took a minor blow considering that we had thousands of pack members, which is why we're the largest pack out there. "Here's your mother's." Logan said and my eyes went wide. "Where the fuck have you been?" I growled at him, but his face stayed stoic. He looked at Chase who grabbed my hand and kissed my cheek calming me down. "I'll tell you later." He whispered and I nodded. "I want you to bring them back." I said to my mom pointedly. She pursed her lips and looked down at the bodies. "It's not that easy, Paris." She said and I gasped loud and dramatically. "Then fucking make it easy!" I shouted and watched her cringe at the power in my voice, I do need to learn to control it. "They have to want to come back, Paris." She said and I groaned like a child not getting what they wanted. "How do we find out if they want to come back?" Chase asked her and she looked at his mom who then spoke. "We normally would perform the ritual that would bring them back, if their souls wanted to come back, but it's long and physically draining. Which is why we don't recommend more than one a day, but if you wait longer than five days the souls will leave forever." She said and I shook my head no vigorously. "No. There has to be some other way." I said and she shook her head. "You have the power to communicate with the dead, what are they saying?" My mom asked and I rolled my eyes at her. "Ill let you know when I figure that out myself." She scoffed and I would have laughed had we not been in the situation we were in.
