"Mr. Angel?" Gustave asked, sitting in box 5. He curiously wondered the Opera House all the time, but always found himself back in box 5, where he first met the masked man.
"Yes, Gustave." Erik stood in the back of the room, gazing upon the young boy.
"Do you love my mother?" Gustave muttered the innocent question, he looked back at him so he could see his face when he responded, but was greeted with only pure darkness. Pure darkness that hid the masked man fairly well.
"Very much, so." Erik admitted quietly to the young boy. Talking to Gustave was so different. He was so mature for his age, just like him.
"Does my mother love you?" Gustave smiled slightly, "She talks about you quite a bit. What about Monsieur Vicomte? What of him?"
"You ask a lot of questions." Erik huffed.
"It keeps you talking. Who wants to sit around in silence all the time when you can learn." Gustave mumbled and looked over the edge of box 5.
"Fine." Erik sighed quietly, "Yes, I love your mother. Recently your mother has been saying that she doesn't believe in my love, and she has been speaking with Madame Giry of Vicomte quite often. Can't imagine why, but she has been. She even disappeared again, a whole day just like last week. She broke her mirror so I couldn't show up unannounced and she has been distant since the first time she came back." Erik found it so easily to talk to Gustave, he just kept spilling everything that was on his mind and everything he thought of.
"You're scared my mother is going back to him." Gustave pointed out.
"Terrified." Erik admitted.
"You need to talk to her about it. Not me." Gustave said bluntly.
"Your mother is difficult. It's not that easy."
"Oh, but it is. Trust me." Gustave got up and disappeared.
"I... I do." Erik murmured.
