A few days had passed, Erik hadn't seen Christine around after the other night and he wanted answers. He went to the only person he knew Christine would speak to, prepared to wait as long as he had to so that he could get what he wanted.

"Madame Giry." he looked up to her as she walked into her room. He'd been sitting on her bed waiting for her patiently, confused and hurt, he just wanted information.

She nearly jumped out of her skin, she hadn't expected anyone to be in her room, especially Erik, "What are you doing here?"

"You look upset." he murmured, "Perhaps a little pale," he got up from her bed and went to her.

"Erik, get to the point. You're here about Christine, go ask her what you want to know yourself. I know you've been eavesdropping." she said, "I apologize, but I cannot tell you what you want me to."

"Giry, I can't go talk to her, she made it very clear she wanted me to leave her be and I... I'm trying to respect her."

"Because you still love her," she said.

He ignored her comment and went on with his question, "How is she doing? She's been keeping out of sight, I haven't seen her anywhere in two days." he murmured, " Where has she been?"

"If I tell you, you can't get upset." she said, she looked at him with deep and stern eyes, "I mean it,"

"I promise."

She sighed and sat on a chair across from her bed, "Sit."

He looked at her, "Is it honestly that bad?"

"You're far more relaxed when you sit." she pushed him into the seat next to her, she placed her hand on his arm and looked at him, "Christine is going to move back in with her husband."

"She- Why?"

"She did it on her terms, she said they spoke and she made it clear that she'd only go back if she was allowed to come back to the theater whenever she wanted, she said that he had to treat her with respect and no more drinking in the house." she tried to defend her daughter's decision.

He stood and walked away from her. He left the room and he went to Christine's room, he locked the door and he looked around the room for a moment before he saw the note sitting on the keys of the piano. He quickly grabbed the envelope and he opened it. His eyes instantly became glued to the paper, reading Christine's words that she'd left for him.

It said;

Erik,

I know you're upset now, but think of how upset

you'd be if you knew the truth. I won't fight you anymore.

I know I recently stated I didn't want you, but I cannot deny that I

need you in my life. Everyone needs an angel, even if they don't

have their wings yet. I will be sitting on your organ bench in

three days. That will give you something to look

forward to, just in case you were thinking about doing

something irrational. Please wait for me.

Christine

He folded the note back into the envelope and put it in his pocket, "Of course I'll be there." he spoke softly as if he were speaking to Christine directly, "Always for you." he continued on and made his way back to Madame Giry's bedroom, he knocked before entering the room.

"Have you cooled off?" she looked to him sadly, "I understand you're upset, sometimes things have to be the way they are."

"I'm not upset. She'll be back, she always comes back." he spoke solemnly, he took a soft breath in, "Good evening, Madame Giry." he said and went to his cellar to prepare for his Christine.

"Good evening," she watched him go, confused, however, she figured that if he wanted her to know what was going through his head, he'd let her know.
