Chapter 22: She Could've

Steven's POV: (After the realization that I will never have to eat food ever again, (I still will though.) we went into the Crystal Forest way off this planet.) |Steven, Azurite, and the other survivors were off into the Crystal Forest to find a way of communication or means of escape.|"So Azurite, when was the last time you have been here? -Azurite: "About 31,000 years ago. After they kicked us off the planet."- "I truly don't understand why they would have to kill you guys off and then send you survivors to who knows where. It's morally wrong. But, what was it like before hand." -Azurite: "Heh, you should've been there. It was beautiful before the "Diamond Cult" went to power. For thousands of years there was peace."- "Wait, "cult". (Azurite got a little angered with me.) -Azurite: "Man, I hate being interrupted. ANYWAY, they were a violence loving cult. Built upon assimilation and freedom squeezing. They enslaved us at first, thinking they can hold us down. But that's when we started to rebel against them, we were successful and they left us alone for about 100 years. Soon after around Year 3,089B |B stands for before the first Gem War, while A stands for afterwards.| they came back with these machines, and they said that they apologize for their troubles. ~Flash back~ Azurite's POV: I was in the front of the crowd of people as they let us go. As soon as the first few gems stepped out of their slave camps, the drilled them in their gems with those machines, shattering them and picking them up and collecting them in satchels. They did this to billions of us, killing us off like pigs for slaughter. Then the victims came back like nothing ever happened, except for one difference, they only did one thing and one thing only. Then Rose Quartz was born from the last Crystal Forest. We called her "The Freedom". She saw what they have done to her fellow gems and realised how wrong it was, killing us like we were nothing, then rebuilding us in their image. Like it was their choice. Your mother made a small rebellion called the "Crystal Gems". It was made up of the surviving free gems who were made in Crystal Forests. We went to areas where the life was drained to reanimate the shattered gems, and we destroyed the "Injector Drills". We later took a large crystal pillar from the last forest. And planted it here, which is where we landed. And made our army larger, they killed half of us in the Battle of the Last Leaf. Where the eradicated the last forest besides this one.
