Memories of you - Chapter 2
Lana’s P.O.V.
“LANA!!” I jumped up at the sound of my name being called.
My eyes went wide searching around my light lit room. They rested on the lump sitting up my bed. I laid back down, tired from my failed attempt at all nighter last night. Today was the day of the giant art test after all. I had to ace this test to get into my favourite University. Art was my life…or it was since Parker had left.
“Hi Jakey,” I said to my one year old brother. He just sat there, not knowing what to do. He couldn’t walk yet, but he could say my name. My mom creaked the door open.
“I thought little Jakey could do a better job at waking you up than I could!”
“Mom. He’s one, how is he supposed to wake me up?”
“I don’t know? Grab your hair or something? He does it to me every morning”
“Well I guess he likes me more, dontcha Jakey” I said playfully catching his nose, making him giggle.
“Whatever! Just get up Lana!” Mom said and retreated from my room with Jake in her arms.
Yep! After Parker left, I went into a state of mini-depression. My parents and friends tried everything. Even my older sister Sherri took a year off of work to come home. However; my older brother Nathan was well across the country not even bothering to call. None of it worked of course. I needed to get over it myself. So my parents, deciding I wasn’t acting like a part of the family, made Jakey. Yeah… replacement. He was light of my parent’s eyes, and they even forgot about me from time to time. They didn’t care about what I did. I decided getting a lock on my door was next top priority.
I rolled my eyes and swung my feet over the side of the bed. Feeling the cold floor, I blindly tried to find my slippers. Getting up, I stretched my arms over my head and shuffled to the bathroom. Might as well take a quick shower. Using my favourite lily and coconut shampoo it took less than five minutes. Awesome.
I got out of the shower and headed over to the mirror. There, I stood, a good 5’7, with my long brown hair. At times my hair looked a bit light brown. My green eyes that sometimes looked like amber shone under my naturally long eyelashes, and my cheeks were rosy against my flawless face. I swiped some mascara over my lashes and left my hair to air dry. I knew it’d behave like it always did; turning into loose curls and waves.
