Chapter 5
Lana’s P.O.V.
I didn’t think it could get this much worse.
Of course I’d thought that when he’d left, that’s as bad as it was going to get.
But boy oh boy was I wrong!
I pushed myself out of my bed, swinging my legs over the side and feeling my way blindly with my feet to the fuzzy slippers. I immediately lapsed back into depression mode after he left me sitting there. I needed to pull myself together.
I felt my way to the bathroom as my eyes were too puffy to actually see clearly out of, due to the amount of crying I’d done last night.
When I finally reached the bathroom I got the sink, the running cold water spilling out from the tap, and splashed my face with it. It soothed my eyes a bit, and I straightened up to take a brave glance in the mirror.
Oh God!
I looked horrible!
My eyes were puffy and all red, my skin drained from colour.
I brushed my limp hair back with my fingers, but gave up. It was no use. I had no hope. I crumbled to the floor again and threw my head into my hands sobbing.
He told me to forget him.
He told me to forget him!
And for so long…
I’d believed him, even though he would always have a place in my heart.
But really!?
I threw my head back and laughed a dark laugh.
Who could really tell someone to forget them, and then come back thinking everything was normal?!
He broke my heart…
I stared off through the window, in the bathroom.
“Why.” I asked. I wasn’t directly speaking to anyone. I was asking.
“Why?” I wailed.
I heard a sharp knock at my door.
“Lana? You in there?” a melodic voice called. Sherri.
I sobbed and curled up on the bathroom floor.
“Lana?” Her voice sounded a bit worried, “I’m coming in!”
I heard the door open and Sherri take a couple steps into my room before rushing over to the bathroom, and taking in my huddled form. I felt her presence at my side and she crouched down to smooth a soft hand over my face. I sobbed.
