I was in the waiting room pacing back and forth outside the Spencer's room rubbing my
Hands together taking deep breaths. Trying to calm myself down but I couldn't stop panicking why hadn't we heard anything?

"What the hell is taking them so long?" I yell sitting down next to Peter and Veronica. The kids we're staying with Melissa until morning they didn't need to see Spencer like this. The doctor finally comes out quietly shutting the door behind him he looks at me with a small
Smile. That had to be a good sight I walk towards him crossing my arms over my chest "How is she?" I ask my voice cracking under the emotion of it all all I wanted was to hold her and tell her that I loved her. He takes off his glasses sighing with relief shaking my shoulder a little "She's awake Toby she's got a few broken ribs plenty of cuts and bruises broken wrist but she's awake and asking for you" She was awake! That's the news I'd been praying for ever since I'd spoken to her last. "Thank you so much" He nods smiling walking down the hall I turn around facing Peter and Veronica "Go on in Toby she'd want to see you" Peter smiles waving me off I nod appreactively walking towards the White door taking a deep breath before turning the door knob entering the room. My eyes widen she had cuts and bruises on her legs and arms, Her wrist was bandaged up. Her ribs was keeping me the most worried but they will
Heal over time. She finally rises her head from the side of the pillow now laying on her back gasping when she see's me "Toby!" She half whispers I run over to her wrapping my arms around her small delicate body she starts to sob into my t-shirt my hand roams her back while my fingers run through her chocolate brown hair. She'd stopped crying I gently kissed her lips before sitting down in a chair next to her placing a hand over her's kissing her cheek "What happened?" I ask not quite sure wether I am ready to hear this

"I was driving it was fine I'd left something at home so I turned to go back and get it and that's when...When the car hit me" Rage runs through my veins my heart pumping so fast it could probably explode.

"Tanner is investigating while I'm here with
You I won't rest until I know who did this okay?" She nods laying her head down staring deeply into my eyes.

"I was so scared that I wasn't going to make it" I was scared she wasn't going to make it!! But like always she did and she always will

"Hey baby girl you're here that's all that matters"

Toby-

Everyone now knew that Spencer was going to be okay. I was walking back to the room
When I spot Tanner and another officer walking towards the same room "Tanner!" I call out her eyes lock with mine she didn't look Happy.

I stand in front of the room opening the door we all walk in "Hi there Spencer" She gives Spencer a sad smile before sitting in one of the chairs next to Spencer's hospital bed. I hadn't heard anything about them finding who had done this to Spencer but I knew she wasn't just dropping in to say hello.

"Spencer we wanted to tell you this in Person" Her voice clam and inviting with a hint of warning mixed into it I raise an eyebrow with a confused expression on my face.

"We spoke to all the witnesses that we're at the scene and someone got the plates from the car that hit you"

Spencer takes a deep breath I walk over standing next to her holding her hand tight she smiles before looking back at Tanner

"We've found the owner of that car" Spencer nods Tanner looks at me with sympathy

"Toby on the night of the drive by shooting do you remember the guy who had a gun pointed at your head? And how you shot him first so?" She asks slowly watching her every word with caution I nod with sadness hanging my head down

"The man who hit Spencer was that man's father I'm guessing this is some kind of kind of Revenge" My heart shatters into 10000 pieces this was my fault my baby girl My freaking everything was in here because of a Grieving father seeking vengeance. I didn't dare look At Spencer I couldn't I'm her husband I'm supposed to protect her. "He's in Police custody..." Tanner continue's about the trial and how she'll never have to see him again but I couldn't focus on anything I was still
Taken in shock. She apologises before leaving Spencer and I in the room alone together I couldn't look at her she steps out of the bed wincing in pain a finger goes under my chin lifting it up so my eyes we're connected with her's.

"Toby this isn't your fault" How the hell could she say that?! I walk over to the wall sighing heavily I hated myself for what I'd done

"Toby please-" I cut her off

"God Spencer! I'm your husband Okay You're Husband I'm supposed to protect you from Harm and I'm the reason you are now in this hospital bed. Yes I did kill that guy he had a gun to my head I did what I had to do I know everyone understands that but This man has a lot of vengeance  ......I killed his son. We both know what I have to do" Tears Spring out of my eyes I turn around to face Spencer she was crying shaking her head aggressively reaching out for my hand I decline she sits back on the bed sobbing.

"You're right no one does Blame you for killing that man he was going to kill you and had a killed innocent people. But please Toby please don't leave me I need you our children need you I'm less safe when you're not around. I knew the consequences and risks that there were when you took this job I signed up for that Okay. Please don't walk away from this From US." I stumble over to her my hand finds the back of her neck I lean down and kiss her slowly and passionately I pull away crying "It has to be this way Spencer you know that I'm sorry" I close my eyes resting my forehead against her's she lets out a handful of sobs before pushing me away "You said you'd never leave me again" Her words are like a stab to the chest but it was the truth I did say that "I know Spencer I know what I said its under completely different reason's now. I'll say goodbye to the kids whenever I can I'm sorry Spencer"

Spencer-

Toby know's I don't blame him for this, He knows I understand why he killed that guy, But like always he put my safety before his and let me go. I'd told mum and dad they went back home to be with everyone I'd rang the girls telling them everything that had happened.

After what seemed like forever I finally calm down and fall asleep but I felt cold, Unsafe, Lonely...

I needed Toby
