Grace couldn't get out of bed. She didn't care if she was late to school, she didn't care if she got detention for the rest of the school year because she was late. Nothing could make that day better, nothing could make it worse.

Finally she decided to get out of bed. She got dressed in the worst clothes she could find in her closet. She went to the bathroom and brushed her hair and teeth. Then, she went back to the bedroom to wake up Samuel. "Wake up." Grace said in her most boring and sleepy voice she had. "Wake up." she said again. "Wake up!!" this time she yelled it. Still no answer. Finally she pulled off the covers. No one was there.

She ran out into the kitchen to see her grandma cooking breakfast. "Good morning dear, did you sleep good?" said her grandma. "Where's Samuel?!" yelled Grace, frightened. He was nowhere in the kitchen or the living room. "He slept in my room last night on the floor, he got scared, I think?" said her grandma. Samuel is not the kind of person to get scared at night.

Grace went into her grandma's bedroom. The window was open, and Samuel was nowhere in sight.
