It Was For The Best

Soul POV

I hear screaming outside the door. Then I hear crying.

"Mom?!" I bang on the door. Then I hear running. Someone is outside my door. They aren't moving. They are just standing there. The door nob moves a little. I back up. It opens slowly. Then when the door is fully open. It reveals maka.

"Soul" she says with a shaky voice.

"Maka!" I hug her. "Where is mia?"

"With sid and papa. Getting the police."

"Thank god! Are you OK?"

"Yes"

"Where is father?"

"Dead"

"And mother?"

"Uh. You should see for yourself."

"Is she... Dead?"

"No. Come" maka takes my hand and we run down the long corridor. Then I see a big mess of blood. Father's body. Limp in front of mom As she cried over it.

"Mom?" I walk slowly over. Police burst threw the door.

"Soul! I'm so sorry! I couldn't stop myself!"

"Its OK! Mom! Its fine." I hug her. She cries into my shoulder. The police come up the stairs. They are helping some of the guys I'm guessing maka and sid took care of, into the ambulance. They cuff me, maka, and mom. Mom has stopped crying now. "I love you mama"

"I love you too soul" mother smiles.

After all the trouble with the police and stuff we finally got to death city. Death is going to decide whether to press charges on mother or not.

"Maka, soul! Nice to see ya!" Death cheers as we walk in

"Hello" Marilyn says nervous.

"Hi Mrs Evans. Now I'm just going to be quick. Your not guilty. But you will have to go through 6 weeks of therapy."

"Oh my god! Thank you death.!" Mom screams excited. "I'm so happy!"

"Yes yes. Now let's not get to excited."

"Yes death." Mother bows with manners.

"Now you guys go have fun!" We leave.

"Now do you want to have mia over tonight? Or like the whole week? So me and soul could have alone time?" Maka asks. I'm surprised. I would thought e wouldn't trust mother.

"Um. Is it alright soul?" Mom asks.

"Yeah sure. Oh did you get the house?"

"Yes of course! If not where would me and mia stay? Since I got all the money from our family earnings, I got a house 20 minutes from your house!" Mom smiles

"Good!" Maka smiles happily.

"Well mia see you in a week!" Me and maka say in unison.

"Bye mama and papa! Love you!"

"Love you too!" We wave. When we get in the car I sigh.

"Did you know that after me or mom would get beat that mom would come in my room later and give me candy?"

"Oh?"

"I'm glad that we are out of trouble. She is finally safe." Maka kisses my cheek. "I felt terrible for running away. And laving her"

"It was for the best soul. If you didnt run away, you could have still been there."

"True. It was for the best." I answer. Maka nods and giggles. "What?"

"I love you!" Maka smiles brightly.

"I love you too!"

"Does this mean we are back together?"

"Haha of course!"

"Yaay!!" Maka yells and hugs my arm. When we get to the house. We get to the room.

"Damn I've missed sleeping in this bed." I pat the bed.

"Me too!"

"I missed you!" I say

"I missed you!" Maka answers

"I miss you in this be with me!" I wink at her. She blushes. She walks up to me. And kisses me.

"Try again?" She asks

"Try again." I answer with a smirk.
