WARNING: rape mention

FOUR MONTHS LATER

Mike drove up to the building carefully while Nel looked back at her son once in a while. Mitch stayed quiet, biting his thumb in deep thought. A big sweater that almost went down to his knees covered his tiny body, practically hiding the sweatpants he wore now. Nel went to touch his knee, but Mitch flinched, even though she wasn't even close to it.

"I'm so sorry, baby," Nel murmured, frowning when Mitch shrugged his shoulders. "I would have done anything to save you that night."

"Ugly, disgusting! You're a waste of space! I can't believe I dated you! You're such a prude!"

"Trevor, stop! Please!"

Mitch nodded as the flashback went away, not wanting his mom to feel like that. The doctors told his parents that if Mike didn't drive to him when he did, he would have died. He remembered that night vividly.

He remembered after Trevor was done, he ripped his sweatshirt to release him. He remembered how he was thrown into the snow with nothing on. He remembered how Trevor kissed him harshly, laughing at how weak and pathetic he was and left him alone to die. He remembered the drive to the hospital and Mike's hand gripping onto his. He remembered how Mike called Nel and told her what happened and all he heard was her screaming 'No, not my baby! Mitchy!'. He remembered passing out from being in the cold for so long and waking up to find out that he was indeed sexually assaulted. He remembered how he started to cry again for what seemed like the hundredth time while his parents hugged him, their tears mixing with his. He remembered the cruel words the police man said to him when he revealed what Trevor did to him.

"Men can't be raped. It's impossible."

"Mitch?" Mike asked, looking back at his son. Mitch nodded, looking at the building. "I love you so much, son. We'll win this case."

"I want to," Mitch murmured, his once vibrant voice now a simple whisper. It broke his parents' hearts to know that such a beautiful soul was ruined by someone else. "I want him to lose."

"We all do, babe. Let's take you inside, okay?" Nel asked softly, her heart heavy when Mitch shook his head. "Mitchy, you need to go. Your therapist said so."

"I don't want to get hurt again," Mitch defended himself, feeling tears run down his cheeks. He wiped at them, not wanting to leave.

All I do is cry now.

"Mitch, I'll take you in there. I'll stay there with you," Mike promised, looking at Nel. She nodded, looking back at Mitch. "I'll stay with you the entire time."

"Your dad will there with you. I'll have cookies for you when you come home, okay?" Nel promised, smiling sadly when a ghost of a smile appeared on Mitch's face. "I love you, kiddo."

"I love you too, Mom," Mitch whispered, looking at the building. Mike walked with him, close to him so no one should hurt him again. Mitch opened the door, wanting nobody to judge him for being a sexually abused male.

Here goes.

Kirstie pulled up to a parking spot, sighing to herself. She looked at a picture of her mom and kissed it, tears leaking out of her eyes.
