Wow...an update...surprise, surprise!

Also, comment...a lot. Comments make me happy, both mentally and emotionally. I know I sound thirsty, but they inspire me to write more.

The hospital was quiet.

Too quiet.

Kevin picked up Kirstie not too long ago, almost fainting at the sigh of blood. Lilliana was sitting next to him, not understanding what was going on. Jeremy was at work, making Kevin get Kirstie faster. So far, there were no news, but Kevin was sure about one thing.

Kirstie lost the baby.

"Kirstie's friend?"

Kevin looked at Lilliana, smiling when she climbed into his lap. The little girl looked up at him, her eyes full of wonder as she played with his sweater ties.

"Why was Kirtie crying? And bleeding? Did she need a band-aid?"

Kevin sighed, not knowing how to answer this question. He was about to say something when a female doctor walked up to him, a somber expression on her face. Kevin picked up Lilliana, standing up as he looked at the doctor nervously.

"Is she okay?"

"She is, but I'm afraid the baby is not," the doctor informed Kevin, tearing up herself as Kevin began to cry. "She is awake if you want to see her. I think she wanted to see you in the first place."

"Thank you so much, doctor. I really appreciate it."

"You're welcome, sir."

Kevin walked down the hallway, Lilliana continuing to play with his sweater. He went up to a door that was wide open, coming face to face with Kirstie. Tears were in her eyes, her hands in her stomach as she stared at the wall blankly. Lilliana frowned, looking up at Kevin worriedly.

"Can I sit with my sissy please? She's sad again."

"Of course, baby. Just be careful."

Lilliana nodded, smiling when Kevin walked her over to the bed and set her down next to Kirstie. The little girl hugged her older sister, bringing her out of her catatonic stage. Kirstie smiled weakly, hugging her little sister back.

"Kirtie, I missed you!"

"I missed you too, Lilli. Are you okay?"

Lilliana scoffed a bit, pouting as she looked at her older sister. Kevin couldn't help but realize how much the two looked so much alike.

"The real question is if you are okay. I'm perfectly fine. I had my snack today. What's wrong?"

Kirstie looked up at Kevin, her eyes welling up with tears once more as she thought about her dead baby. Kevin walked over, wrapping an arm around Kirstie's shoulder for moral support. Lilliana waited patiently, wondering what Kirstie had to say.

"Do you remember how God wanted Mommy to go home with Him?"

Lilliana nodded, frowning as she thought about the beautiful woman. Kirstie let a tear roll down her cheek, sighing shakily before continuing her story.

"Well, the same thing happened to my baby. The baby, whatever gender they were supposed to be, was brought home. God wanted them right away. I don't know why, but my baby will be very happy up there. My baby will watch us with Mommy and God. I'm so sorry, Lilli."

"It's okay," Lilliana replied, even though it wasn't. She hugged Kirstie carefully, her brunette hair tickling her older sister's cheek. "Kirstie, promise me that when you go to be with God again that you will watch over me."
