WARNING: I don't know how to explain this one, but Mitch has nightmare and even though the nightmare is not described, it shows him reacting to it.

Kirstie drive to Scott's house as fast as she could, hoping to get there in time. What happened to Scott's dad? She hopes that nothing bad happened. Nobody deserves to lose a parent.

I love you, Mommy.

She pulled up to Scott's house, raising an eyebrow when she saw no ambulances there. Everything was peaceful and serene. She stopped the car and hopped out, almost jumping when Avi walked up to her.

"Sorry for scaring you," Avi apologized right away, frowning apologetically. "Scott texted me. Something about his dad."

"He called me, but his boyfriend talked to him," Kirstie replied, frowning herself. Why did Scott get a hold of them and not anyone else? "Why did he contact us? We just met today."

Avi shrugged his shoulders as Kevin pulled up, his eyes full of worry. He nodded hello to his new friends and sighed as he crossed his arms.

"What's the matter with Scott? All I heard from him is something about his dad."

Kirstie shrugged her shoulders as she went up to the door, knocking on it gently. Avi and Kevin stood behind her, protecting her in some kind of way. For some reason, all five of them felt some connection when they met in the meeting. They all waited for someone to open the door when Avi noticed that the group was missing one person.

"Where's Mitch?" Avi asked, looking around. He felt like he had to protect the younger male as if his life depended on it.

"He told us that he doesn't like going out late at night," Kevin answered, missing the small brunet himself. "Why do you think he didn't want to speak at the group?"

Kirstie was about to answer when the door opened, revealing a male that was about Scott's height. His hazel eyes met with everyone else's eyes as he nodded, letting them in.

"You must be Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi. I'm Alex, Scott's boyfriend," Alex introduced himself, leading them to Scott's room. "I have to warn you. It's a bit packed in there. He needs friends."

"What happened?" Kirstie asked softly, her eyes full of worry. Alex sighed sadly as he opened the door slowly, refusing to look at the other three.

"Scott's dad began to drink and Scott found him drunk."

~~~
Nel woke up to hear Mitch screaming as loud as he could. She shook Mike, hoping to wake him up.
"Mike, wake up!"
"Five more minutes."
"It's Mitch."
Mike woke up instantly, not showing any tiredness. The couple hopped out of their bed and ran to Mitch's room, the ear shattering screams breaking their hearts.
"Mitch," Mike yelled over his son's screams, tearing up when he saw the condition his son was in. He thrashed around in his bed, kicking off his bed sheets while tears ran down his face. "Mitchy, it's okay."
"Trevor, get off me," Mitch practically screeched, his eyes still shut tightly. He let out another scream, his heart beating faster. "Stop, please!"
Nel walked up to her son and hugged him gently, hissing in pain when he slapped her arm. She laid in bed with him, hoping to calm him down. He fought back a bit, trying to his mother's loving embrace off of him. About three more minutes passed when Mitch finally stopped fighting back, waking up to find himself in his mom's arms. He hyperventilated quietly, trying to get the nightmare out of his head. He closed his eyes as more tears escaped.
"Mommy?" Mitch asked softly, his soft voice almost a whisper. His mom nodded, holding on him tighter. He hasn't called her mommy in years.  "Why won't the nightmares go away?"
"I don't know, baby. I just don't know."
Mitch began to sob quietly, gripping onto his mom's shirt like it was his lifeline. Mike sat down as rubbed Mitch's back, his heart breaking more and more everyday for his son. When Mitch was younger and he had a nightmare, his parents will come to his room immediately, made sure that he was okay, and double checked the closet for any 'monsters'. They then left peacefully, smiling when Mitch smiled in his sleep.
Now he has nightmares constantly. He hasn't had a nice sleep ever since Trevor hurt him. He screams every night in fear that Trevor will hurt him again. His parents still run to his room and makes sure that he is okay like they did when he was younger. The only different part though?
The monsters are not in the closet this time. They're in Mitch's head.
And he no longer smiled in his sleep.
~~~

Scott hugged his pillow, the tears running down his cheeks slowly. He couldn't believe that this happened. Why would Rick do that to him when he knew his mom was an alcoholic? Was he trying to ruin their relationship too? The door opened slowly, taking Scott out of his thoughts.

"Scarecrow? Your friends are here," Alex whispered, letting Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi enter. "I love you."

Scott didn't say anything in response. Love is irrelevant to him and always will be until he dies.

What has love ever done for me?

"Scott?" Kevin asked softly, rubbing the blond's back. He flinched when Scott raised his shoulder to remove the kind hand. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"What is there to talk about?" Scott asked, his voice shaking. "I don't even know you guys. Why do I need to talk to you?"

"You got a hold of us. Of course we want to talk to you," Kirstie replied, her voice full of anger. "You just can't text someone to come over and not talk to them. What gives, Scott?"

"I just don't want to talk. Respect my wishes."

"Well, respect me whine in sleeping. I'm out of here."

Kirstie left, not saying goodbye to anyone. She began to cry silently, wondering why she would ever do that to anyone. Scott could be very depressed for all she knew and he needed someone to be there for him. Now she's leaving without another word.

She went into her car, ignoring the text messages she was receiving from Jeremy. She put her forehead on the steering wheel and cried once more, shaking slightly.

Mom, I need you. Why did you have to leave?

Her phone began to ring and she picked it up, crying quietly. Jeremy yelled at first, but his voice lowered down to a sweet tone when he heard her crying.

"Krust, what's the matter?"

"I'm so tired of everything," Kirstie answered, sobbing loudly. "I want my mom back. Jeremy, I can't do this anymore."

"Kirstie, listen to me. You are going to be okay. It's going to take some time. You will find that light in the darkness. I don't know what it is, but it's going to be there. You just got to wait."

"I'm driving, Jerm. Thanks for the words. I love you."

"I love you too, Krust. Drive safe."

Kirstie hung up, tears running down her cheeks. What light could there possibly be? Last one she checked, her mom was her light.

What light?
