Hanna's POV

Emily is two days past her nine month mark, but she still insists on going to work. Even the doctor recommended time off.
I'm so worried about her.
What if her water breaks at the damn coffee shop? Will her boss drive her to the hospital? Who's going to tell me?
I take a deep breath and try not to think about it.

An hour later, I've over thought about the entire situation so much that I'm in my car and driving to the Brew.
I walk in but I don't see Emily. I see a handsome guy standing behind the counter and he looks up at me when the door makes a ding! noise.
"How may I help you?" He leans one arm on the counter and smiles at me.
I read his name tag.
Manager.
"Oh, you must be Ezra. I'm Hanna, Emily's girlfriend." I extend my arm for a shake and he returns it.
"Of course! I'll grab her for you, one sec." He smiles once again and disappears behind a beaded curtain.
A few seconds later, my very pregnant girlfriend walks out behind Ezra.
"Hey, Han! What are you doing here?" She asks and kisses me on the cheek.
"Cut the crap. You're overdue Emily. You shouldn't be working!" I pout.
"Hanna, we discussed this last night. I need the money, and as long as I am able to work, I will be. You can't do this right now, I'm in the middle of stocking dishes." She brushes me off.
"Yeah? Well too bad. You need to come home just in case-"
"Woah, ow." Emily puts both hands on her stomach and winces.
"Oh, real funny Em." I scoff and she shakes her head.
"Shut up, Marin. It actually hurts." She hisses. "Ah!" She staggers backward at another sharp pain and Ezra pulls a chair out before she falls.
Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit.
"Emily, your pants are soaked." He pipes up.
"Fuck." Emily whispers, mostly to herself.
My mind immediately goes into game mode and I start mapping out a plan.
I'll rush Emily to the hospital and on my way, I'll call Pam and tell her the news. Then, I'll ask her to go to her house, get the hospital bag, and come back to the hospital as soon as possible. While I'm doing that, Emily will be calling the girls.
"Okay, let's go!" I grab Emily's arm and Ezra helps me carry her to the car.
The Saturday morning light blinds me momentarily, but I regain my composure and we set Emily down in the backseat.
I start the drive to the hospital and quickly tell Emily the plan.
She follows, and I dial Pam's number.
"Hanna?" She asks confused.
"Mrs. Fields," I still haven't gotten used to calling her her first name to her face, "Emily's water broke. I need you to go to your house and grab the hospital bag that is sitting in the mud room, and get to the hospital ASAP. Got it?" I ask and Pam says yes. She demands to talk to Emily but I tell her she's preoccupied with being in labor.
"God Hanna, that's the excuse you use?" Emily comments from the backseat when I hang up the phone.
"Am I lying?" I look back at her and she's laughing while holding her phone to her ear.
"Spencer. I'm in labor." She says quickly. "Get the girls and go to the hospital. We're pulling in right now." She tells Spencer as we pull into the Rosewood Medical Center.
"Okay, Em. Ready?" I ask and pull the car up to the ER. "Let's go have the babies."
She beams at me but the smile is quickly replaced with a frown as another contraction occurs.
"Oh shit, we need to hurry." I climb out of the car and we slowly make our way into the hospital. The valet parks the car and I thank him.
"Excuse me? My girlfriend is in labor. We need a room pronto." I inform the lady behind the desk.
She motions to the man beside her and he fetches a wheelchair.
Emily sits down and I push her, following the same man.
He leads us to the elevator and we huddle inside. The silence is occasionally broken by Emily's groans or deep breaths.
Once we get to room 397 on the fourth floor we head inside and the man tells us that the doctor will be in in a few moments.
Emily gets situated on the bed while I look at all of the equipment.
When the doctor enters he checks Emily's ovulation to see how far she's dilated.
"Ms. Fields you are at about 4 centimeters dilated. At this point you may feel a small urge to push, ignore it. You don't want to push before I tell you that you can." He instructs. Emily nods and just then, her mother walks in.
She hands my the bag and I start unpacking it. I give Emily her snacks and blankets.
I grab my overnight things and start setting up camp on the window seat that looks out over Rosewood.
The doctor and Emily's mom start discussing epidural and post-birth treatments and the costs of everything. Emily is listening intently but all I'm thinking about is when we walk out of this place.
Emily is going to have two babies in her arms. Children. Actual live beings that she produced from her uterus.
I'm so engulfed in my own thoughts that I don't even notice when the girls walk in.
I remember what my mother told me when I told her about the babies.
"When she goes into labor, call me. I want to be there."
Shit!
"Mom." I say when my mother answers her phone. "Emily is in labor."
"Oh my god! Text me the room number and I'll be there in a jiff!" She squeals and hangs up.
"If you would like to, we can preform the epidural right now." The doctor suggests.
Pam looks at Emily and then Emily looks at me. I shrug and Emily looks back at her mom.
"It'll be a lot less painful honey." Pam sets a hand on Emily's knee. Emily thinks for a moment and nods.
"Let's do it." She sighs. "Wait!" We all look at her. "Contraction." She explains. I grab her hand and she squeezes her eyes shut. "Alright. its finished."
"Okay, if I could have you swing your legs over the side of the bed, we'll start numbing you up." The doctor instructs.
"Em, do you know how big the needle is?" I ask cautiously, knowing how deep her fear of needles is.
"Yes, Han. They showed it to me already, I've mentally prepared myself." She laughs. I smile and grip her hands tighter.
"Okay this might be a little bit-"
"Ow!" Emily yelps and arches her back away from the doctor's hand.
"Em, that was the alcohol swab." I giggle.
"It was cold." She pouts.
A few moments later, my mother walks in with a basket full of baby clothes.
"Oh my god, mom." I playfully roll my eyes. Emily turns around to see what I'm talking about and gasps.
"Oh my god, Ashley! Thank you so much! Just set it next to the bag right there." Emily nods to her right and Ashley sets it down.
"How are you doing?" Mom asks her, standing next to me.
"Good, just waiting for them to stick this needle inside my back." She fakes a smile and my mom gives her a sympathetic look.
"This is so exciting!" Aria suddenly pipes up and grabs Spencer's knee.
Spencer just looks at her and smiles.
"Alright, Ms. Fields. Here we go. Now, you shouldn't feel a thing." I watch as the doctor slides the humongous needle in Emily's back.
"Did he do it yet?" Emily asks. I smile and nod. "Really?!" Her eyes widen.
"Try to keep still. One wrong move and you could be paralyzed forever." The doctor playfully threatens.
Emily immediately stiffens.
Several minutes (and contractions) later, the epidural is done and starting to kick in.
"Can you feel your legs?" The doctor asks. Emily pokes her thigh and shakes her head. "Good. It's working. Let's check your ovulation." The doctor bends her knees and spread her legs open.
"Wow, you've made very good progress. Nine centimeters." He says.
"Wow. You're almost ready to deliver, Em." I say excitedly.
Ali, Aria, and Spencer all look at each other with excitement too.
"It'll be about ten or fifteen minutes." The doctor leaves to set up a delivery room for us, and Emily and I start talking about the babies.
"Okay, now you have to tell us names!" Aria insists.
"No! I'll tell you after they're born! Just be patient. We don't even have them figured out yet." Emily laughs and looks at me.
"This has been the longest fifteen minutes of my life." Alison groans.
"Tell me about it." Emily sighs.
"Hey, girls? Can you give me and Emily these last few minutes alone?" I ask politely. I want to ask her a question.
"Sure...?" They stand hesitantly and walk out of the room.
I immediately explain myself.
"Sorry, I just didn't want to ask such a serious question in front of them. I'd be too nervous." I say shyly.
"What?" Emily asks curiously.
I take a deep breath, "Emily,"
