Hanna's POV

So I talked things over with Ezra and he said Emily is okay to come back to work.
'But who will watch the twins?' You may ask. Well I have enough credits to take half days at school, because I'm a senior. By the time I get out of school, Em will already be at the Brew and I will go home, get ready, and be there by five o'clock.
My hours are switched because of Emily's return but we get to work together for a couple hours, so im not complaining.
I've also spoken with Alison and her girlfriend Chelsea and they said they'd be happy to watch them both while Em, Pam, and I are all gone.
"So, when do I get to go back?" Emily asks enthusiastically.
"Well Ezra told me whenever you want to, if you already do then Monday. He still has your apron and name tag." I grin, not able to hold back my excitement.
"Wow, I can't believe we're gonna be working together." Emily chuckles lightly. I didn't think my smile could get any wider.
"But, once I go to college and start my real career, we won't each be making minimum wage." I say quickly. I love the thought of taking care of a family.
"Em, once I'm a world renowned fashion designer that won't matter. I'll own my own fashion chain." I say seriously and she sighs.
"Han, I need to bring in a living. These are my kids too and I should be able to take care of them as a mother is supposed to do."
"Of course you should! But I'm just letting you know, I will keep you and the kids happy and healthy. These kids are going to grow up in the best family around. You know why?" I scoot as close to her on the couch as I possibly can. She stares at her hands in her lap. "Look at me, Em." I reach my hand up and tilt her chin up until her tear filled eyes reach mine. "These children are going to have two parents that will stick together no matter what. We will do whatever it takes for our babies to be happy. They will have parents who are partners and best friends. We will be the greatest possible examples for our children. They're going to accomplish amazing things Em." I whisper, my voice cracking. My words are punctuated by both of our falling tears.
Emily beams at me and covers her face.
"Emily." I remove her hands and wrap them around my neck. We relax in each other's embrace.
She squeezes me softly, and takes a deep breath.
"I love you." She chokes out between quiet sobs.
My heart stops and an incredulous smile covers my face. "I love you too Hanna, so much."
Emily pulls away and almost kisses me but stops and hovers above my lips. I feel her uneven breath against them and she looks into my eyes.
She brings her hands to either side of my face and slowly presses our lips together. She bites my bottom lip and pulls slightly.
I whimper and she makes this sound deep in her throat, almost like a growl. I feel a fierce clench in the pit of my stomach.
She pins me down on the couch suddenly, causing me to yelp in surprise.
She presses her hips hard into mine, and grabs both of my wrists. I let her pin me, but then suddenly I flip us around and now I'm pinning her.
I almost laugh at the look on her face, pure shock.
Instead I attack her lips with my own, until we are both out of air. "It's your turn now, Emily." I whisper as seductive as possible into her ear.
Her breathing stops and I assume it's because of my comment. That is, until she throws me off of her and stands quickly.
"Em, what's the matter?" I ask, worried.
"My mother is home."
She fixes her hair and straightens up the couch cushions.
I laugh at how quickly she moves, I've never seen her this anxious.
"Babe, calm down. It's just your mom." I giggle and she shakes her head.
"The twins!" She claps and jumps up and down giddily.
"Oh! Duh!" I join in on her excitement as we run to open the front door.
"Hey, girls!" Pam exclaims and immediately hands off a tiny bundle to each of us.
"Oh my god, hello honey!" Emily squeals and kisses Quinn's forehead. "I missed you guys like crazy!"
"Aw, is Oliver sleepy? Hm, is Oliver sleepy? I think he is." I slowly bounce him in my arms and his eyelids hang half open.
"Em, I'm so sorry I should've come home before the snow hit I can't imagine how worried you were!" Pam starts apologizing and scrambling to get the bags inside the house.
Emily hands me our daughter and starts helping with the suitcases.
"Mom, why are you apologizing for being caught in a storm? That is so not in your control." Emily says, confused.
"Well I knew it was supposed to snow. I should have been more considerate-"
"Mom," Emily grabs her shoulders and Pam stops. She embraces her and let's out a deep sigh. I stand awkwardly with the babies squirming in my arms.
"Oh!" Emily jumps away from her mom and comes over to me. She grabs Ollie and supports his neck while holding him on her hip.
"These outfits are so adorable, Pam! Did you buy these?" I ask, surprising myself when I call Emily's mom by her first name.
"Oh, yes I did! I went to a little boutique while I was in Philly. They had the cutest little sets of clothes, I couldn't resist." She confesses. "I purchased others, I have them in my suitcase. I'll go unpack that, would you girls mind changing their diapers? I haven't gotten around to it yet, I've had a busy morning." She asks, grabbing two of her bags and heading toward the stairs.
"Yes, ma'am!" Emily jumps to action and we both help her with the bags and take the twins to their room.
"Here, Hanna I got this. Could you maybe start the chicken alfredo?" Emily proposes.
"Of course," I say willingly. I stand next to Emily for a few more seconds. I watch as her quick, careful hands at work. She's already such a great mother.
I kiss her on the cheek and skip down the stairs to start dinner.

Emily's POV

My alarm rings at seven in the morning on Monday. Today's the day I go back to work.
I begin my morning routine that I have grown accustomed to in the past few weeks.
Get up, change the the twins diapers, give them their bottles, and start breakfast.
Once everyone is up and eating, I take a shower and get dressed. After I do that, I get both the kids dressed and put them in their playpen while I eat my breakfast.
As soon as my mom leaves for work and we start getting ready to leave, I text Alison and Chelsea and they show up in an instant.
"We were just so excited!" Alison explains, embarrassed.
"Well have fun today, their milk is in the freezer, and the nursery is upstairs, down the hall and the last door on the left." I give them the run-down to refresh their memories. Just in case. "If you need anything at all, text one of us. Don't burn the place down, and take good care of our kids!" I finish with a warm tone.
We hug them both and say goodbye to the babies. "See you in a few hours!" We call as we're shutting the door.
We walk out into the chilly afternoon air and jog quickly to my car.
I drive Hanna to school and then make my way to the familiar Brew.
"Good morning, Emily. Welcome back." Ezra's warm smile puts me at ease and I breath in the rich scent in the air.
I smile and slip on the apron hanging on the Emily hook.
