Marinette x Adrien

New Years Special
New Years Celebration

"C'mon Marinette! It's gonna be fun!" Alya pleaded with her reluctant friend as Marinette looked away and sighed. "I don't know, Alya... I'll just be another random person. Besides, I'll make a fool of myself anyways. It's at Adriens house." Marinette said quietly, she could already feel her cheeks heating up just from the thought. "Please! For meeeeee!" Alya pleaded as she dropped to her knees beside Marinette's bed as she clasped her hands together in a praying motion. Marinette sighed in defeat as she reluctantly nodded. "Alright but I'm not dancing." Marinette huffed as Alya squealed and hugged Marinette. "Thank you thank you thank you!" Alya cheered as Marinette's reluctant frown turned into a happy smile. You see, Adrien was having a New Years party abc everyone was invited, but right after he had invited Marinette, Chloe had threatened to start a horrible rumor about her if she went. Now she was being dragged to her inevitable doom by her best friend. Nino, Alya's crush, was Adrien's best friend so Alya only really wanted to go to see him. "We're here!" Alya said as Marinette felt her stomach drop and heart beat speed up as Alya rang the doorbell. "Alya I think this was a bad idea..." Marinette began to say but Adrien had already flung the large door open and smiled at them. "Marinette! Alya! I'm glad you could make it!" Adrien said with a smile as Marinette blushed deeply. "Thanks for inviting us." Alya said as she and Marinette entered the large estate. "Wow it's beautiful!" Marinette gasped as her bright blue eyes looked around the room, taking all the paintings and beautifully painted walls. "I'm gonna go get some punch." Alya said as she disappeared into the heaping crowds of students with Nino following behind her. Marinette looked hastily around to try and find her friend. Adrien had already disappeared as well. Marinette felt so lost and out of place, the evil glares from Chloe and her gang didn't help. Eventually Marinette gave up on finding any familiar faces and instead of treading through the pools of dancing students, she found her way to a large marble balcony. She opened the sliding glass door as she stepped into the balcony, a cool breeze hitting her face as she leaned into the rail and looked out into the beautiful lights bestowed before her. All the city lights where lit and the Eiffel Tower, oh the evil tower was so beautiful. The balcony had a perfect view of all of its glory from here. "Wow, it's been so long since I've been able to enjoy the Eiffel Tower as Marinette and not Ladybug." Marinette said as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath before exhaling, peeling her eyes back open. She glanced at her watch which read 11:57 pm. "3 minutes left." Marinette said as she tried to tune out the blasting music and screams of excitement. Marinette was snapped out of her peaceful thoughts as the sliding glass door slammed behind her and a sigh of relief filled the air. Marinette spun around to see Adrien panting, Adrien looked up to see a startled Marinette starring at him. He felt his face heat up as he straightened himself and cleared his throat. "Uh-hm... Marinette I didn't know you where out here, why aren't you inside enjoying the party." Adrien asked as she averted her gaze from his, turning back and leaning on the railing. "I didn't some air, I don't really fit into the crowds much." Marinette replied, for some reason her thoughts where keeping her from getting embarrassed talking to Adrien. Maybe it's because she wasn't all focused on his emerald eyes and good looks. "Why are you out here?" She asked politely, her gaze not leaving the amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. "I was trying to hide from Chloe." Adrien said with a nervous chuckle, scratching the back of his neck. It was obvious he didn't want to talk about it and she wasn't going to force him to. "Mind if I stay out here with you?" Adrien asked and Marinette's eyes widened and her face heating up. She kept her head low as she stuttered to find the words to reply. "Y-yeah, of course." She muttered, looking away from him as he leaned beside her. "10-9-8" the crowds shouted the count down from behind them as they all eagerly stared at a large clock inside the house. "Everyone find someone to kiss!" A person from in the crowd yelled as the count down went from 8 to 5. "5-4-3-2-1- HAPPY NEW YEAR!" The crowds yelled and cheered as everyone grabbed someone and kissed them. "You should go back to the part-" Marinette began to say but before she could finish her sentence, Adrien had grabbed her face and pressed his lips to hers. Marinette's practically popped out of her head as her heart beat sped up and face flushed. 'ADRIENS KISSING ME ADRIENS KISSING ME!' Her brain screamed as she slowly claimed herself down enough to close her eyes and kissed back. Eventually the kiss ended as they both pulled away to catch their breath. "Happy New Year, Marinette." Adrien said with a grin, a light blush on his face. Marinette stood starstruck as she watched him gaze out into the night sky. Maybe this year will be even better than the last, and maybe, she'll get to spend it with the one she loves.

A/N: HAPPY NEW YEAR OR NEW YEARS EVE DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU ARE! I hope you have a great 2016 and I'll update soon! Xoxo - lcdynoir
