'Man this day couldn't get any worse.' Adrien thought to himself as he slumped his backpack over his slouching shoulder, walking aimlessly around the city sidewalks. For some odd reason every time he sees Nathaniel with Marinette it makes his stomach turn. Why did it affect him so much? Adrien shook his head until he finally flopped down on a old park bench in a abandoned part of the park. He gazed around before setting his eye sight on the sky, the sun was setting soon and from where he was sitting it would sure be a pretty sight to see. Adrien ran a hand through his hair as he exhaled deeply, leaning back against the bench. He closed his eyes and crossed his arms, his earlier thought swirling around in his head. Adrien's eyes flew open when he headed a loud crack and a scream from the woods behind the bench. He jumped up, digging through his bag to find Plagg but then suddenly the realization hit him. Plagg had been overworked so he left him at home to rest. Adrien cursed but ran through he trees and shrubs anyway to see what was up. He skidded to a halt as he made it to a clearing, a group of kids from school where studying together when what seemed to be a akuma-induced delivery truck driver nearly ran them over. Adrien's eyes went from the students to the driver but then he caught a fleeting glimpse of red and black in the corner of his eye. BAM! Suddenly everything seemed to be in slow-motion. Ladybug, who seemed to of appeared out of no-where had landed a blow right in the truck drivers stomach sending him flying back. Ladybug straightened up before looking at the students who where huddled together in horror. "Go on! Get away from here before you get hurt." Ladybug said as the students stood up, hysterically running away from the battle that was heating up. Adrien had the urge to jump out and help Ladybug but what good was he without his powers? He'd probably just get in her way. That thought weighed in his head as he began to slowly move back into the forest, probably to watch from behind a tree. "Adrien?" Ladybug questioned, causing Adrien to halt in his tracks. He opened his mouth to say something but no words escaped his mouth he felt his face flush as he tried to form a sentence. Ladybug stared at Adrien but her gaze was pulled from his as the truck driver ran at her, Ladybug barely dodged but luckily, remained unharmed. "I gotta get the akuma!" Ladybug mumbled to herself as she eyed the bracelet on the truck drivers hand. Ladybug had an idea pop in her head as she smiled to herself. "Got it." Ladybug began to bolt to the side when he came at her, she finally made it behind him where she had launched herself onto his back. She grabbed his harm and pulled it up, yanking the bracelet from his wrist. The truck driver suddenly fell to his knees as Ladybug jumped off him. She broke the bracelet and cured the butterfly all while a awe-struck Adrien watched. The truck driver did the usual 'what happened?' Before running off into the woods. Adrien gathered up the courage to step out of the woods, Ladybug returned her attention to him before walking towards him. They where silently starring at each other, only a little ways apart. "What are you doing here?" Ladybug asked curiously, internally, she was screaming her face off. Of course that would freak him out so she made sure to keep that buried deep down until she got home. "I was coming back from school... I heard a scream so I came to see what was up, but you had the situation under control already." Adrien said quietly as Ladybug smiled proudly, "I see, well it was a pretty tough one though." Ladybug's expression went from a happy smile to a sad and slightly disappointed expression. "It probably would of been easier, not to mention more fun, if my partner was here." Ladybug said, her gaze was on Adrien but her mind seemed elsewhere. Adrien felt his heart drop, but at the same time his heart beat quickened. He was sad that he wasn't able to be here to help her but she called him her partner, partner. Do you know how happy that made Adrien feel? Adrien calmed himself down, "Im sure your partner had a reason for not showing up." Adrien said, trying to hide a smile. Ladybug's expression lit up as she smiled. "Yeah, your probably right. I better get going, I'll see you around then?" Ladybug said as she had already began walking away before disappearing into the woods. Adrien grinned as he replied to himself as he began to walk in the opposite direction as Ladybug, "Yeah, I'll see you around... My Lady."
