/Song for the Chapter: Use Somebody by Kings of Leon/

Veronica

Michael ; Calling

After I fished my phone out of my side pocket, my eyes dilated and I slid my thumb quite harshly against the screen of the device.

"Who's calling y--" I placed my finger quite violently against Moose's lips and he stumbled back to the road.

"Hello?" I gained my composure and straightened up. I know he isn't seeing me but there would be that certain feel that--like a high school chick who's been dreaming of a phone call from her cute crush-- you should gain your composure, act confidently and think like the person you've been infatuated with for quite a while now is calling and your simply nonchalant about it.

"Hey, you. How's been your day?" I could practically hear the smile off of his voice.

"Yeah, I've-I've been great. What's up?" I cursed mentally at my stuttering. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

"Well, did you got my message?"

"Oh." I bit my inner lip and remembered that I haven't exactly texted him back. Thanks, Moose. "I'm totally sorry about that. I-uh... I turned in my photos to Jim and I was at his apartment and I probably just--"

"Hey. It's okay! It's alright," he laughed at the other end of the line, "I was just wondering if you'll take on the offer...? We could go to a diner afterwards. My treat."

I smiled, "That'd be very lovely."

"So you're up for it?"

"Totally. Where am I meeting up with you?"

"Take the next bus and stop at Clearview Block.  I'll fetch you there."

My cheeks hurt from my smile, I love hanging out with Michael. He's a quite a conversationalist and he's someone you can talk to if you're having a bad day. He'll always do his best to cheer you up.

Everything seems alright until I remembered;

Moose the Goose is with me.

"Uh, Mikey?" I sheepishly uttered.

"Yeah?"

"We might have a little crowd." I bit my lip, hoping Moose wouldn't hear.

"Why?" I heard shuffling and heavy footsteps. "Who else is coming?"

"A friend..." I gulped, "...that is vaguely eager to meet you."

"Huh?" I could imagine his eyebrows furrowing.

"I just... is it alright with you if he comes?"

"Uh, yeah." He paused, "Sure."

"Okay. Thank you. I'll see you in a bit."

"Okay, bye. Take care." I hung up my phone and saw the upcoming bus. I ran to it with a quick pace and I hear Moose calling after me. I caught up to the bus and quickly jumped inside.
