New Year’s Wishes

This is just a short fic. Kinda random and out of character, but yeah hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

There was a building owned by An Group that still under construction. Once the construction finished, An Ziyan said it would be the most sophisticated apartment complex. Currently An Ziyan and Mai Ding stood side by side in the rooftop of the said building.

It was new year eve. Because lately he was too busy with everything he didn’t think about anything to celebrate new year. Out of his expectation, An Ziyan dragged him to here. And not even for one second Mai Ding regretted to follow An Ziyan.

It was beyond beautiful. The clear night sky. The fireworks. Everything.

“Wah, this is amazing! How can you find building has such an amazing view?” Mai Ding was excited.

An Ziyan shrugged. “I found out that this building has a wonderful view when I surveyed the construction’s progress. So, do you like it?” Mai Ding nodded eagerly.

After that, they were too preoccupied with the comforting silence between them, enjoying the serene night breeze with fireworks’ as their backsounds. Few minutes to new year, Mai Ding nudged on An Ziyan’s side. “Let’s make a wish.” Mai Ding grinned widely.

An Ziyan almost rolled his eyes at Mai Ding’s childish behavior, but he still obliged nonetheless. For a while they closed their eyes, Mai Ding even clapped his hands together in front of his chest. When they were done with making wish, Mai Ding eyed An Ziyan curiously, “What’s your wish?

“Isn’t it supposed to be a secret, silly?” An Ziyan asked back teasingly.

“Well…. not really.” Mai Ding chuckled. “Don’t you want to know what I ask? C’mon, ask me… Ask me…”

An Ziyan rolled his eyes for real this time. ‘Childish.’ He grunted in his mind.

“What did you ask?”

Mai Ding grinned like a cheshire cat, “I want to grow a bit taller so it’s easier for us when we kiss.”

“Still an idiot as ever.”

Mai Ding pouted and hung his head low. An Ziyan always knew how to pick harsh words to scold him.

“Come here.” An Ziyan said after awhile. He grabbed Mai Ding’s arm and dragged him closer to him. “I’ll show you height is never will be a problem if we want to kiss.”As the sentence released from An Ziyan, he folded his legs a little so he was on the same height with his lover and leaned closer to Mai Ding’s face.

An Ziyan gave Mai Ding the most gentle kiss ever he could give with fireworks roared more from a far.

“So what’s your wish?” Mai Ding asked when they finally deattached their lips.

An Ziyan smirked, “It’s still a secret.”

‘I wish you to stay forever by my side.’
