♡JESSICA
The drive was short and when I saw where we were I was so excited. We were at the fair. I love these things. Noah opened the door for me like a gentleman. We got our wristbands and got in. We got on all the rides first. Then ate funnel cakes with cotton candy and some nachos. We just got off the Ferris wheel and we kissed. But when we kissed it felt different, there were no shocks like there were with Ruben.
"Having fun?" Noah asked me.
"Yeah, I am," I tell him as we walked into the small restaurant. We sat down at a table and ordered milkshakes. I look around at my surroundings.
"Are you okay?" He asks me.
"Yeah, why?" I ask him tapping my fingers on the table.
"Because you aren't acting like yourself, you know?" He tells me, then stops my hand. I sigh and look at him.
"I'm fine." I lie. Even though I was having fun what my parents told me was in the back of my mind. The waiter came with our milkshakes putting them down on the table.
"You sur-" Before he could finish his sentence three men dressed in red with guns came in. Shooting the place. Glass broke and screams with shrieks fill the room. I turn back around to see a man who had a knife against Noah's neck.
"Just come with me Ms.Killer and everything will be fine." The masked man said. I look at him taking my gun out from the side of my waist. The other men are surrounding me pointing guns. I get up and put my hands up.
"Let go of the boy and take me," I say looking at him. He nods and removes his knife. He grabs my arm as Noah looks at me. I move my eyes back and forth to tell him my gun was there. He got the idea. We started to walk away. When I spun around kicking the man down and sliding my leg fast across the floor making the other men fall down behind me. Noah throws me the gun as I shoot the three men. A knife appeared against my neck. My breath hitches.
"Nice try Ms.Killer." the man whispered in my ear. Then I heard the man groan and fall back slicing the knife across my neck. I hiss in pain holding it. I turn around seeing Noah standing there and the man on the floor stabbed. My neck throbbed in pain.
Noah came and hugged me. I tried not to cry holding my tears back. I was honestly scared but I didn't show it.
"Thank you for saving me," I whisper in his ear.
"Anything for you." He says. Next thing you know cops were called and they eventually came taking the men away in body bags. An EMT lady helped bandage my wound.
We were outside the fair with the cops and everything when I see my parents running towards me. My Dad hugged me so tight kissing my head.
"Are you okay honey?!" My mom asked me tears coming down her cheeks. I nod as she hugs me too. I saw Noah standing there awkwardly.
"Mom and Dad this is Noah my date," I tell them as they nod shaking hands.
"I'm so glad you're okay." My dad says giving me another kiss on my forehead.
"Noah I'm sorry about this," I say turning to him.
"What do mean? Sorry?" He questions.
"I'll explain later," I say.
Noah still drove me home as he did I explained what and how this all happened. He pulled into my driveway as I get off. He got off with me. We walked to my front door and stood there.
"I really I'm sorry," I tell him as he holds my hand.
"It's okay, I understand." He says. I kiss his cheek before he leaves and drives off. I go inside and talk to my parents. As I'm talking to them, my mom drops a bombshell on me.
"Sweetie, we're going to move to a different house somewhere out of the area." My mom tells me.
"But what about school?! My friends? Mom I just made new ones and they're cool." I said frustrated. I may be acting a little dramatic but I'm picking up my life and leaving.
"You'll still be going to school but you'll have to be home-schooled. Because of this stuff happening. We don't want to get in trouble for shooting at your school or God forbid anything worse. We need to just need to hide for a few months are so." My father explains. I hesitate my plans are ruined for Disney Land.
"I have plans in a week to go to Disney Land with my friends," I tell them.
"You'll just have to without them or go another time." My mom states crossing her arms.
"Ugh! This is so unfair" I slam my hands against the island.
"Jess, please understand," My dad calls as I begin to walk away.
I stomp my way upstairs to my room and slam my door. I fall forward on my bed. My phone vibrates, I look at my phone to see a text message from Ruben. What the hell? I haven't texted him in since we broke up. I opened it.
'Hey,' the text read.
'What do you want?' I replied.
'Jez, I just checking on you. I heard what happened at the fair. R u okay?'
'I'm fine. Just not happy. Please leave me alone'
'What's wrong?'
'I'll explain later. Nite Heart.'
'Night Jessie Girl♥'
I didn't reply I just smile. He hasn't called me that in a long time. I start falling asleep. My eyes droop down. His text is in my mind. But I fell asleep with something that I hadn't had in a while. I fell asleep.
But with a smile on my face.
