Rose's POV
My face darkens a little after that last part. Not necessarily because it hurt my feelings, though. I'm not sure that's possible anymore.
Crazy, insane...
Hah, well you look at that. She has stood up from her chair now, glaring at me like she wants blood. I'll give it to her, but it won't be mine.
I cross my legs and put them on the long table as if I was lounging. I stare back at her evenly, but instead of anger, my eyes are filled with teasing.
I laugh. "Did you just call me crazy?"
Her face twists up into a snarl like scowl. "You're a freak, Rose. Just like your father."
This makes me laugh more. The anger burns in my chest with a rage, but my eyes are dead, tinting purple even more as each word spills out of her mouth.
Nathan squeezes my hand, watching my eyes worriedly. He knows that someone might die today, but maybe that's just what people need to see that I'm in charge.
"I don't think you realize what a gift I have been given. I am the most powerful being in the entire world. Taking such a big step so rapidly takes some getting used to," I explain.
Gwen shakes her head. "You're still the petty girl I met in the water tribe. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that you, cowering in a corner the whole time?"
She mocks my voice then, imitating me in the most mocking way possible. "Save me from the voices in my head, Nathan! Nathan, where's my juice box?!"
Oh snap.
She didn't just go there. People stare at the both of us now, slightly uncomfortable. I clench my jaw.
I'm snapping again, losing my cool. I can't remember the last time I've ever been so angry.
"But I'm curious, if you really are the most powerful person in the world. Last time I checked, you were in an insane asylum and tied in a strait jacket."
Ice daggers form around her, which she summons with ease. My hands are shaking.
A rush of power fills me as I summon it. I welcome it. My hazy aura swirls around me, a mix of purple and black.
She sends the daggers straight towards me. I hear Nathan and Rowan scream in protest at the same time, but all the daggers break against my newly formed, black shield.
I incase everything but her head in a shadow. She seems to panic slightly when her eyes avert to me. I'm not even using my hands.
"I could kill you right here and now," I say.
She snorts. I lean close into her face, smirking. "I win," I hiss into her ear.
My boot smashes into her face. I hear the crack of her nose breaking. Blood spatters on my face and covers the bottom of her boot. My smile grows wider as I release her.
"Now, can we actually start this meeting?" I call. Everyone stares at me. Two men drag Gwen out of the room.
I sit back in my seat, not even wanting to look at Nathan or Rowan.
Why?
Because I know that they know this isn't me, but literally. There's something inside that is controlling me, but it's helping. Everyone needs to fear me, that's the only way to get to my father without sparing him.
He needs to die slowly and cruelly, a way where he wishes he was dead. The thought help me sleep at night.
"We are going to kill my father. And you all are going to help," I demand.
And with that, I walk out. My black cloak trails behind me.
