Stars, are only visible in darkness
Fear, is ever changing and evolving
And I, I feel poisoned inside
And I, and I feel SO ALIVE

Rose's POV

Ah, meditating. It's supposed to be relaxing. I've been doing this for an hour, and I'm still as tense as ever. Maybe I could ask Liesel...

Naw, screw it.

I decide to finally creep out of my room. I've been in there all day. I go outside and see people walking around, talking with others and minding their own business. Completely unaware of the terrifying Avatar and most powerful person in the world that's in front of them.

Maybe because I came in the size of a skinny, innocent looking girl. I'm 17, but probably look two years younger than my actual age. I find it convenient. No one will ever see me coming.

I see Austin sitting under a tree, reading a book intently. Not seeing anyone else, I walk towards him. He looks up when I plop down next to me.

"Hey," I murmur.

"Look, I'm sorry--" he blurts. I don't let him finish.

"Don't worry about it. I've done worse."

"Like what?"

"Oh, you know. Killed a few hundred people. Set a building on a fire last night, also tried to kill someone a little bit before."

He looks surprised and bewildered, but decides to not ask questions. Smart.

"Won't your boyfriend freak out if you talk to me?" He asks.

I lie on my back in the soft grass, looking up at the sky. "Who cares?"

I take a deep breath, closing my eyes and willing my muscles to relax. They don't. In fact, they seemed to bunch up in a even more tense position than before. The hairs along my neck start to rise uneasily.

"Something wrong?" Austin asks curiously.

I sit up. "Nah."

My eyes drift around the area, looking for the possible danger. (If there is one). If I told anyone, they'd think I'm crazier than I already am. If I don't, something might happen. Or it won't.

That's when a building goes up in flames with a loud BANG. Once again, I chose not to listen to my instincts.

Screams and yells of alarm ring in my ears with a roaring chaos. Austin hops to his feet, his eyes wild.

I'm already running towards the fiery building. My army is in there, the one to take down the Fire Nation and make me FireLord. I can't have them die on me just yet.

Shadows stream from the corners of the area, breaking windows and grabbing people. I put them safely on the grass, away from the fire.

I don't know which they're more afraid of. The sudden bombs exploding on base or the psychotic teenage girl with shadowy powers. It's probably me.

I close my eyes, feeling overwhelming energy fill my lungs as I listen to the screams and feel the heat of fire against my skin. I grin, holding my hands out, welcoming the chaos. The moment is ruined when someone lunges at me, pushing me to the ground and into an alley between two buildings.

"Rose! What the hell are you doing!?" Nathan shouts. "You were just standing there as a fireball was hurled at you!"

"Get off!" I grumble, pushing him away.

"Oh no. Your eyes are purple again. If you have to kill someone, please make it the people who just blew up a few buildings."

I stand up, brushing off some dust. "Did you see them?"

Nathan shakes his head.

"Give me a moment."

I close my eyes, focusing on all the human energy in this place. For the past few months, my senses have grown exceptionally.

"Found em!" I chirp.

Nathan shakes his head. "You're insane, aren't you?"

"You just noticed?"
