After Sirius had left me to figure out what leaving England meant I realised that Amanda the friend that I had made when I first joined Hogwarts needed to know that I was leaving the country with the possibility of never returning. I decided that I would send her a letter with Sirius's owl:
Dear Amanda,
I hope you are well? Christmas with the Potters has been magical, everything about it is amazing especially them they treat me with so much kindness. Which is all I can ask , they treat my brother as their own son which is fantastic. The only thing is you see I'm not returning to Hogwarts after the Christmas holidays. In fact I may never even return to England again. You see my father and mother have disowned me as their daughter while my uncle Alphard has undisowned me and is requiring me to leave the country to go to Beaubatons the school in France.
I hope that this will not unvalued our friendship in anyway and hopefully we can still be friends, even at this distance apart. Thank you for this amazing friendship even though it has been for a short while.
Love from
Cassiopeia Felicity Black
The curve script of my handwriting looped across the piece of parchment that was on the desk in front of me. I found an envelope in the pile of papers and looped her name across the front making sure that it was visible. I found the family crest stamp that was always used when writing letters, I only used it because I enjoyed the feel of having one.
After sending the letter the only thing to do was reply to uncle Al's letter which I was putting off for obvious reasons. I would actually have to remember the reason that I was leaving. The only reason that was there, my family didn't want me anymore. At eleven years of age that is a hard thing to understand. I was walking around in a zombie like daze remember everything that I could so I would never forget what has happened in the past. Collecting the letter from the mess of papers that sat on the table in front of me was a challenge especially since I could see the neat scripture that was placed on the parchment.
Pulling out a chair from the oak table that had wear marks on showing the age of the object and the meaning that it probably held to the family that owned it. I plucked up the courage to read the letter:
Dear Cassiopeia
I have heard from your parents that they have decided to disown you from the family. I believe that they are wrong in doing so considering that they have been placed in a cycle with their children rebelling against their beliefs and customs. Being the heir of the black family at the moment I have the ability to cast you from the family since you are under the age of seventeen and have done no wrong doings to get this fate.
Under my command and my faith you are going to be reinstated back into the family again and placed into the guardianship of the family as a whole. This means that you Cassiopeia have no decision on where you will be placed. After the Christmas holidays have ended I will be collecting you from the Potter residence and taking you to your new guardians who live in France. Resulting in your movement from England to France where you will taking permanent residence you will attend Beaubatons instead of Hogwarts.
I look forward to seeing you on the 2nd of January .
Yours,
Lord Alphard Black
I heard a snort from behind me as Sirius was reading over my shoulders and shaking his head. I smiled at him and returned to my thinking. I was sat their for a long time as I heard the rest of the Potter family enter the kitchen and take fort there waiting for their breakfast from the house elves. The family was talking between themselves Sirius included. I watched from the outside until I saw Sirius's face darken suddenly causing me to be brought out of my silence and listen contently to the conversation that was taking place. They were speaking about childhood more importantly James's, I could see the longing in his eyes wanting a family who were actually their for child.
I took out a quill and started to write my reply to my Uncle confirming that I had indeed received his letter and hoped he was well. I wrote about how I was looking forward to seeing him again and how thankful I was to be reinstated. I suddenly realised that I was the only one speaking in the room, I wasn't really speaking more like humming. It was a song that my mother used to sing to us when we were younger before she turned into the beast she was today. Sirius smiled longingly and started to sing with me. "You are my sunshine, My only sunshine. You make me happy When skies are grey. You'll never know, dear, How much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away" The muggle composed song chores was the only part of the song that out mother had known. After we had finished singing the song I ran up the stairs towards the room I was staying in. I heard the footsteps following me sounded by the slam of any other door. I slide down the door and cried at what we had lost all those years ago after our mother started to go crazy with power. I heard the smash of a glass against the wall of a room and the scratch of a chair pushed back sharply against the floor. I ran across the corridor and entered my brothers room.
The room looked more permanent than his had at home, it had pictures of him and his friends pinned up on the walls, they were looking at the camera laughing. My brother was lay on his bed breathing heavily with his eyes closed. He looked completely calm as he made eye contact with me, the glisten of tears was held there showing the pain that he was in. A deep voice came from behind me "Sirius Black what have we said about smashing things." I turned sharply as Mr Potter stood in the door frame with a small smile on his face the concern and worry evident in his eyes. "Not to, sorry Dad." That word 'DAD' shattered my already fragile hard into a million pieces. He obviously didn't need me anymore especially since I was taken back into the family while he wasn't. I left the room calmly and went downstairs to where my letter was unsent exactly where I had left it. I added onto the end of the letter. 'Maybe the 2nd of January is not soon enough Sir, especially for me to settle in. Is their any possibility for me to be collected on a early date if it isn't to much trouble.' I sent the letter away with the owl that was waiting for the reply that it needed.
Thank you to all of the people that are Continuously reading this even after I have left it for so long. Hopefully this was worth the wait. Thank you for reading and I hope yo have enjoyed this chapter.
