They always did like the park. It's quiet setting made for a fantastic place to think about their lives. The boy and girl sat on opposite sides of the large oak tree, atop the grass and fallen leaves. Their backgrounds were so different, and their friendship bordered on insanity, but they knew that they could always count on the other. The boy's chestnut colored hair and hazel eyes gave him the indisputable look of an innocent school boy. His mind waged war with itself through which could be seen through his ever darkening expression. The girl's short-chopped ragged brown hair and bloodshot brown eyes, along with her starved appearance, gave the impression of somebody who lived at rock bottom. At the same time, however, the intense stare she gave her cigarette showed a girl who was once everything she had ever wanted to be.
