Chapter Seven:
After tossing and turning all night, I decided to get out of bed. I looked over at my clock, "It’s only seven in the morning, really? Think I'm going to do what Ky did to me yesterday." I muttered to myself. So I picked up my phone and dialed her number. It seemed like it rang forever and finally I heard a very tired Kyrie mumble, "Hello?"
"Hey Ky! You up," I asked in a cheery voice.
"Gabs? I am now....Do you have any idea what time it is? I should be sleeping for at least another like three hours."
"Hey you didn't let me sleep in yesterday so payback's a bitch," I came back laughing. "Get up we are going to have a girl’s day today."
"Ok well give me like an hour to get ready. I need a shower and coffee before I do anything," She begged.
"Fine, but no longer than that. We are going to I Hop for breakfast though! So hurry up I'm hungry," I demanded as I got out of bed myself to get ready. I heard her groan as she hung up the phone. As I got ready I thought to myself, no thinking of any guy today. I am going to be guy free, if I can help it! I hopped into the shower and after I went over to my dresser to grab my white and pink bikini. Throwing that on, I added on some black cloth shorts and a white tank top. I ended up just deciding to throw my hair into a pony tail since I would most likely go swimming at the beach. Running down to the kitchen I started a pot of coffee and grabbed two travel mugs. Filling each up when the coffee was ready I shouted bye to my mother and father letting them know I'll be back later and walked over to Kyrie's house.
She threw open the door just as I was about to knock, "You better have my coffee." She wiped a hand over her tired eyes and stifled a yawn.
"Yes I do its right here. By the way I like your outfit," I laughed as I handed her one of the travel mugs. She was wearing a black bikini with a white skirt over it and a black spaghetti strap.
"Thanks. I love going to the beach. It doesn't take long to get ready for that! Now onto IHOP, I'm starving," She laughed in return as she dragged me to her car.
Getting in the passenger side I asked, "How come we never take my car anymore? It's seems like I don't even have a car because everywhere we go you drive."
"You don't like driving remember?"
"Eh true...But I do like my car." I replied thinking about my car. It was a 08 baby blue Chevy Trailblazer. I had to bug my father for weeks, dropping hints I wanted one and low and behold I got it for my eighteenth birthday! He was a little hesitant about getting it though because it’s bigger than a car and he wasn’t sure I could handle it. But I proved that I could. I am not really a car girl anyways. I wanted either a Trailblazer or a truck.
"I like it too. So I think you need to get over your hatred for driving so we can use yours, it has more space," She backed out her driveway and started to head towards IHOP.
"We can text the girls once we get to IHOP and let them know to meet us at the beach in an hour or so."
"We can bug Allie to give us details on her date with Jace. Although, I believe her date with him was probably a lot better than mine with Bradin. Well I wouldn't even call it a date. We were both just as bored." I began to reminisce about the popcorn incident.
Once we got to IHOP we went inside and sat down. Our waiter was making his way over to us, "Doesn't the waiter look familiar," I questioned as I tried to pin point where I had seen that cropped red hair and talk lanky form before.
"Yea he does. Hey it's Riley! I didn't know he worked here!" Kyrie responded.
"Hey girls! Nice seeing you here. What can I get for you?" He cocked an eyebrow as he held his pad and pen.
