Mikoto pov

I knew something wasn't right the moment Izumo reached for his phone. I watched as his face contorted form shock to anger to desperation. Yata and I watched from the couch, at the edge of our seats. Izumo quickly hung up and headed for the door, but not before saying that Totsuka and Shizuka have been shot. I felt myself turn cold.

When we reached the rooftop they were at, I could only see two bodies lying next to each other. Yata was quick to run over to Yata as I was to Shizuka. Izumo was still on the phone, telling the ambulance driver the address. I gently removed Shizuka from Totsuka, and I sat her to where the blood could drain, but not choke her. She was leaning against my leg and arm, my hand pressed against the red spot that was on her stomach. I saw her wince a bit, and that was the first time I looked at her eyes since I got there. And I wish I didn't. Her mercury eyes were filled with pain. They held the same look as they did when we first found her, then there was sadness, fatigue, and lastly, love. I didn't understand how love could be in there when she was clearly in pain. I looked at her legs and saw that they were smeared in blood. I followed the trail into an even bigger pool of it. I could feel my anger rise, and start to lose control. But, then Shizuka reached over to Yata to wipe a stray tear, only to smear blood on his cheek. I saw her retract her hand in slight shock when she saw how red her hand was. I quickly covered her hand with my own, and pulled her close. We could hear the helicopters now, and people shouting. They got Totsuka and Shizuka on a gurney, and started to take them away. And that was when I saw an emotion I never wanted to see in her mercury orbs. Fear.

I sat by Totsuka's bed, with Izumo standing over me. Totsuka woke up a few hours ago, and requested to see us. It was a great relief that he didn't die, but still to see his idiotic smile on his face after almost dying, I almost hit him.

"So, what's wrong Totsuka?" Izumo asked. Totsuka's smile dropped, and was instead replaced with a frown.

"King... you know that Shizu-chan is attached to the Slate, right?" I nodded. His eyebrows furrowed a bit,"Do you know what you do to her every time you use your Damocles Sword?" I raised an eyebrow.

"What are you talking about Totsuka?" Izumo sighed. Totsuka looked up at us,"After he shot us, he asked Shizu-chan somethings. And one of them caught my attention, and it was that every time you use your Sword, it hurts her." He took a breath,"I... I asked her if it hurt if a King calls out their Sword, and she said 'depends on what shape the Sword is in." It was no secret that my sword was probably in  worst shape than any other King. But to know, that all the times I called it out, it hurt her. I brushed my fingers through my hair, and walked out.

"Ah, King!" Totsuka called, but I ignored him. Red was clouding my vision, and the last thing I wanted was to burn down the place that was taking care of Shizuka.

 Izumo pov

"Don't worry. Knowing him, he's probably going to go burn down a gang or something." I said, looking at Totsuka. He was worried, obviously. I gently pushed him to lay back down on the bed,"Sleep, you need it." He nodded, and I exited the room. I headed for Shizuka's room, who's door was open. I looked inside, only to see Anna laying next to Shizuka. Poor Anna, she so was scared when she heard the Totsuka and Shizuka were in the hospital.

I sat down next to the bed and looked at her face. It was sickly pale, and her eyes had bags underneath them. She was drained. Poor thing looked exhausted. I brushed my fingers of her forehead to move some fringe, and that caused her to shift a bit. To think that her own King is hurting her, how ironic.

Extremely Short, Sorry.
