part eleven : new boy

At the end of Christmas break, a new kid moved to the house between and Rowland's and mine. His name was Weston ((koury haha)) and he was the same age as me. ((pretend he's a year older just for this)) He ended up going our school after break and I was excited to get to know him.

It's been a month since Weston moved here, and we've got very close. He became friends with our little group, except Hunter doesn't like him very much.

Hunter and I are still close as well, he just tried to avoid hanging out around Weston. Neither of them like eachother, Ryan and Zach both know, but won't tell anyone else. I wonder what it is, because my two best friends hating eachother kind of bothers me.

Over time, I'm actually starting to like Weston. He's so sweet to me, really funny, fun to be around, and not to mention also really cute.

Hunter and I have slowly got not as close after Weston came, but we're still bestfriends.

I got ready for school, as usual putting on a casual outfit *in media* and felt like today would be a good day. Nick told me it was time to leave, and I hopped in the car, and we picked up Weston, and then the Rowlands.

Nick was driving, Brandon sat in the front, Hunter was originally sitting with my in the middle, but once Weston came, I moved into the back and Ashton was next to Hunter.

The car ride was pretty silent, it wad mostly Weston and I talking. We were talking about random stuff and just laughing.

Once we got to school I hugged Weston, and met up with Julianna to go to homeroom. As we walked to the class, we saw a poster for the winter formal coming up. Hunter and I were planning on going together, thinking neither of us would have dates.

"I heard Weston is gonna ask you out to the dance!" Julianna told me, sounding excited. I smiled, but said "I doubt it, I don't think he really likes me." She looked shocked, "Weston doesn't like you?! Girl, are you crazy?! Everyone knows he likes you! Why do you think Hunter hates him so much??"

Suddenly, everything made sense to me. Hunter was jealous of Weston and I. We agreed that we would just stay friends and try moving on, so I didn't exactly feel bad.

I had no morning classes with Weston, but before you knew it, it was lunch. Our group all sat at a table together, but Weston and Ryan weren't there. I was asking where he was, and Zach said he had a surprise for someone...wait a second..is this was Julianna was talking about?

Next thing I knew, Weston was on the cafeteria stage (idk about you guys but my school has one ) with a microphone and flowers. Ryan was there, too, holding a poster. "Valarie Thompson, would you please come up here?" He asked, with a smile on his face. I ran up there, and he handed me the flowers, and held my hands. "I was wondering if the most beautiful girl in the world would do me the honor of being my date to Winter Formal?" I smiled, and hugged him tightly. "Yes! Of course I would, handsome."

Everyone started clapping, and as we walked back people just kept saying

"are you guys dating?!"
"that was so cute aw"
"that is so goals you're so lucky!!"

Once we got back to the table, everyone was there, but Hunter. Nobody knew where he went, but I figured I'd just see him next period when we had spanish.

The bell rang not long after that, and I started walking to my next class. I saw Hunter in the hall, alone, so I came up to him, hugging him from behind. "Heyyy bestfriend! Where were you during lunch?" He kept walking, and completely ignored me.

What the heck? Why was he being moody again?

We got to the classroom, and my seat was assigned next to him anyways.

"Why won't you talk? Whats wrong??" I asked, pouting at him. "I'm fine." He said quietly, not even looking at me. "Come on! Out of everyone, I think I could tell if something was wrong." He rolled his eyes at me "Oh really? Or are you talking about Weston? Because he seems to be replacing me at everything, including being your best friend."

Before I could respond, the teacher came in and class began. This was going to be an interesting day.
