part thirteen : choices

It's been about a month since Weston asked me to the dance, and today was the day! Since then, Weston and I got really close, and Hunter and I faded even more. We talk occasionally, and still hang out, but not as much. I miss aways having him by my side, but people change I guess.

The dance started at 7:30, but Weston, Julianna, Sophia, Zach, Ryan, Hunter, and I were going to dinner at 6. Zach was going with Julianna, Sophia with Ryan, and Hunter didn't have a date. He didn't want one though, at least thats what he's telling everyone.

It was currently 4pm and I went over to Julianna's with Sophia to get ready. My dress was gold, sequins on the top part, and it poofed out at the bottom. It went about half way down my thigh, and was gorgeous.

Sophia curled my hair, perfectly, and braided a little piece out of my face. I had natural makeup, and wore beautiful nude heels.

By the time we were all done, it was already 5:30, time for pictures! The boys all came over and took the usual dance pictures with their dates.

After the pictures, we hopped into the car to get to the restaurant. I sat in the back, between Hunter and Weston.

As soon as we sat down, Weston smiled at me, saying, "Val, I don't think I've told you this yet tonight, but you look absolutely gorgeous." He was blushing, and so was I. "Well, thank you very much, handsome. You look pretty great yourself." I laughed a little, and he kissed me on the cheek. Hunter looked so uncomfortable. I decided to make conversation with him, as well.

"Hey I didn't forget about you either! My bestfriend looking all adorable in his suit tonight." I laughed, pinching his cheeks. He smiled a little, and then looked over at Weston. "You too, Val. You look beautiful, he's a really lucky guy."

Before we knew it, we were at the restaurant. It was pretty fancy for a bunch of 14 year olds, but oh well. The food was really good, and then we headed off to the dance.

The night was great, just how I imagined it to be. Weston and I had a great time, and so did everyone else. We danced a lot, and just had a lot of fun. I really think I'm starting to like him, and I think I could see us together.

Hunter's POV

Val and Weston have got really close over the last few months. I'm still extremely jealous of him, but he makes her haply, thats all I want. Seeing them together still hurts me, more and more everyday, but I've learnt to live with it. He seems like a nice guy to be honest, and I think I'm going to apologize for always being so rude to him.

Val's POV
After being extremely tired from the dance, I got a text from Weston.

Weston🙈❤️:
hey beautiful💘
i really dont think you should talk to Hunter anymore

wait what? why would he say that?

Val☺️💘:
what? Hunters my best friend I could never

Weston🙈❤️:
well i think you're gonna have to if you want to keep talking to me.
he loves you val, i dont want him to get inbetween our relationship.

I didn't know what to do. Either way I was gonna loose someone who I truly care about. The question was, my best friend for the past 11 years, or a guy I met a month ago, but I think I love?

I could never meet another guy like Hunter. We've been with eachother through everything, and by that I mean everything. Good times, bad times, fights, break ups, makeups, at the end of the day he was always there for me.

As much as I love Weston, I don't have that same trust I do with Hunter. I'd trust Hunter with my life, and I haven't got to that point with Weston yet.

After thinking about it for a while, Weston kind of broke the strongest relationship with Hunter I've ever had. Ever since he came, we're not as close anymore.

I think I made my choice.

i'm sorry but i can't do this if i cant stay friends with Hunter. hope we can still be friends...

That had to be the right choice. I hope Weston and I could remain friends, but if not I still have Hunter, and he's all I need.

Hunter was over in like 5 minutes, and I explained the whole Weston situation. He seemed kinda happy, but I was still upset over the whole thing.

"I know you're probably upset right now, but I just want to thank you for not leaving me after all that we've been through. I thought I was going to loose you to Weston at one point. I know you really care about him, but some things aren't meant to be. Theres a million guys who would love to have a girl like you. Bring it in?" He said, smiling. I hugged him tightly, and we just sat there the rest of the night talking.

I missed moments like this. Me and Hunter, out late night talks when one of us really needed it. I had my bestfriend back and everything was how it should be again.

I drifted off to sleep in Hunter's arms, knowing I'd have a good sleep. This was how I loved things to be, and hopefully no boy will ever come between us again
