Luke would never normally do something like this, but tonight, he was desperate to see Michael. He checked the clock- it was a bit earlier than Michael had said, but Luke didn't care. He turned his radio on, to try to mask the fact that he wasn't going to be there for much longer, and opened his window.

His bedroom was on the second floor, which would make it harder, but his mom had a garden trellis for her roses up against the side of the house, which dropped into the backyard. He could make it down and out, though may gain a few scratches doing so.

Before Luke made the drop, he decided to text Michael to let him know that he'd be there soon. He quickly typed up the message, and hit send, hoping that Michael would get it soon enough.

He quickly climbed out the window, leaving his window open for when he got home, whenever that may be. He walked over to his car, and realised his problem. His car was an old car, and it sounded the part. In order to take it out of the driveway, Luke realised that he would have to put it in neutral, and push. He climbed in, shifted it into the correct gear, and started pushing it down his driveway, and onto the street, until h was around the corner. By the time he got there, he had gotten a reply from Michael, saying that it was alright to come over. Luke grinned to himself, and started his car to begin the long drive to Michael's house.

"Luke?" His mother knocked, then opened the door. "Where'd you go?" she stepped into the room, and couldn't find her son.

"Listen, Luke, your mother changed my mind about this. You can go to Michael's house tonight to look at the stars, it's fine." His father said, coming around the corner into the room without his son inside. "Where is he?" he asked.

He looked over at the open window, where the curtains were rustling in the breeze from being left open.

"He's gone."
