When Luke got home from dropping Michael off at home he knew it was homework, then dinner, then back to his room for more homework, then bed. He had no freedom anymore.
"Hey, mom." Luke called, coming in the door. "I'm going to go work on my homework, alright?" He didn't even give his mother time to answer, he just continued up to his bedroom. He thought that if she had a problem with it, she could come get him.
Luke got up to his bedroom, and closed the door behind him. He didn't have any homework, so he collapsed onto his bed, being as relaxed as he could. Before he could even get comfortable, Luke hear his phone buzz. He got up, to check on it, and make sure it wasn't an emergency, not that anyone would call him about one anyway.
Luke checked the message- it was from Michael.
"LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE!!!" The message read.
"MIKEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!" Luke replied.
"I miss youuuuuuuuu." The bubble said.
Luke didn't know what to say. He missed Michael, too, but didn't know how to say that without sounding stupid.
"I miss youuuuu tooooooooooo." He replied. Before another message came through, his phone started ringing, signaling an incoming phone call. It was Michael.
"Lukey!" Michael exclaimed when Luke answered the phone.
"Hey, Mikey. What's up?" Luke asked, sitting back down on his bed. He secretly loved the fact that Michael called him Lukey, it was so cute.
"The sky?" Michael responded, and Luke could hear that he was trying to hold back giggles. "But nothing much. I just wanted to talk to you again."
Luke's heart melted when he heard Michael say those words. Nobody had ever said anything like that to him before, and hearing it come from Michael made Luke feel loved.
"Oh, alright." Luke answered. "So, have you decided which day you're coming over?"
"You'll just have to wait and see." Michael said, and Luke could hear him smiling into his phone.
The two continued for a while, talking about little things like bad homework assignments, good book that they'd read, and just making small talk before anyone said anything important.
"Hey Luke?" Michael asked.
"Yeah?"
"Have you ever seen Star Wars?"
"Not all of them."
"What about The X Files?"
"Nope."
"Firefly?"
"Never even heard of it."
"Galaxy Quest? Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy? ET?"
"No, I read the book, and yes!"
"Luke?"
"Yeah?"
"You've got some serious catching up to do."
