Weapon. Every killer needs a weapon. Or else, how would you kill?
I see a lot of knife usage, and I can understand why. Knives are really easy weapons to get. You have tons in your kitchen! So when writing the backstory, it's easier to make your OC get the weapon if it's a knife. Unless they keep a sword as a wall decoration, collect weapons, have weapon makers as parents, or use another easily found weapon. I have been making a lot of my OCs use knives lately, mainly because they're really fun to draw. I used to try to be super creative with the weapon.
Here are the weapons I see all the time
Knife
Scissors
Sword
Scalpel
Powers of sorts
Strength
Anything else I missed
SuicidalSarah used Butterfly Swords, which I had never even heard of! I legit had to go look them up just to find out what they are. Look them up. I find it less Mary Sue if you add a little bit more creativity to the weapon. Like xX_Dj_Storm_Xx used a knife and a sword, but she did them black bladed, which makes them slightly more creative. I'm a lot less annoyed about knife over usage than other things because it is really hard to come up with creative weapons.

Bow and arrow

Shocker
Some of the most creative I've seen are

Scythe
(Add anything else)
You get the point. I don't think I've ever seen people use
Cars
A stick
A spoon (you can just beat people with stuff until they're dead)
A screwdriver
Chairs
Legit anything in the room
A tree branch
Noose
Teeth
Fingernails
Gradual insanity (eventual suicide)
Guillotine (that thingy that chops people's heads off)
Explosives
Drowning
Lava
Natural disasters
Bare hands
Broken glass
(Legit anything else comment)
So on and so on. YOU COULD USE A WINDOW PANE FOR ALL I CARE!!!
Try a little bit to be creative with your weapon. Please.
