Meeting Barnacle

Okay, maybe I was overreacting when I wanted to search for Juniper, I mean I've never stepped foot out of the rainforest so...Parakeet thought. She was already lost and they barely were over what looked like Jade Mountain.
Shadeclaw seemed to be the worst flyer ever, it seemed like he was trying to bump into everything literally. Parakeet meanwhile swooped through trees majestically. " Can you stop flying like a maniac!" Parakeet exclaimed. Shade scowled. " Sorry, but before I lived in the rainforest I lived in an ash covered place with no trees to bump into!" Shade shouted. Errgh, what an annoying dragon. Parakeet thought.

We landed near Jade Mountain Academy hoping to get information. The entrance was carved from old stones and gems and on top it read: Jade Mountain Academy . We stepped through the entrance and met a strong looking SeaWing. " Hello, welcome to Ja- wait you look older than the students, why are you here?" Tsunami said confused. Parakeet stepped forward and said," Hi, I'm Parakeet and this is Shadeclaw. We were wondering if you saw any RainWing flying solo or something suspicious?" Tsunami made a concerned face. " There is a RainWing on the loose? I should contact Glory right now, and you two better get back to the rainforest goodbye." Tsunami said, then rushed The dragonets right out of the entrance . "What was that for?" Parakeet whispered to Shade. Shade shook his head," I don't know , but where should we go?" He asked. Parakeet opened her mouth to talk, but she felt a light scratching on her back. " Wha-?" She started. A small dragonet crawled from behind her and opened her mouth," I heard you talking about a RainWing,"The young SeaWing whispered," and I think I know who you were talking about. Is it Juni-?" The SeaWing was cut off by Parakeet's worried words. " You know where Juniper is? Is she here, where-" Parakeet shouted. Shadeclaw shifted on his talons excitedly. " Uh, well I only know a little bit. A week ago she was pulled out of Copper Winglet and taken back to the rainforest because her scales were dulling, and-" The SeaWing's statement was interrupted by Parakeet again," I already know that is there anything else?" She asked desperately. The SeaWing nodded her head and said," Yep! So I was gettin' bored in my room cause Juniper was gone , so I walked outside to see Stonemover so we could talk. Then a weird colored cloud flew past me and said' Hi, Barnacle!'-" Shade choked a laugh. " Excuse me mister!" Barnacle said outraged. Shadeclaw whispered to Parakeet," Really , her name is Barnacle!" And Barnacle continued her story with a scowl ," So I was like 'Juniper!' But she flew away. Before she left I saw She had this mean scar across her snout, and one of her horns was half cut off. And her scales too, they looked weird. Like it wasn't as shiny and it looked a little bloody too. But it was mostly this foggy grey-blue,so she looked like a storm cloud." Barnacle said. Parakeet's scales had made a spiral of acid green and white, and she was screaming at the top of her lungs. " Calm down Parakeet!" Shade said before she started crying. " Wwhere wwas sshe going?" Parakeet asked shakily, on the verge of tears. Barnacle looked hesitant. " Hmm... It looked like Scorpion Den? Maybe..." Barnacle said uncertainly. " Okay, thanks for your help. Bye!" Shade said then the two dragons flew into the air. Barnacle looked like she was tearing herself apart" Come?!!" She said then she flew really fast to follow Parakeet and Shadeclaw.

Parakeet was of course leading the way, and she landed first. The ground felt odd between her talons. She wasn't used to the sand, usually she felt leaves between her talons. And there were no trees either, where would they rest? By now Shadeclaw was nearing the ground, wait no he was closer to a-" AAAAAARGH! WHO PUT A CACTUS HERE!!" Shade shouted . Parakeet had to pull all the spikes out of him and it wasn't pleasant. He kept on screaming stuff like ' That's my scale! 'And ' OW!!!OOOOWW!!' Very annoying right.
When all the spikes were pulled out we started to discuss where we'd sleep. " We could find an oasis?" Parakeet suggested. Shade shook his head. " It could take hours to find one, and by then you wouldn't be able to see your claws." Shade countered. " We could go over there!" Barnacle suggested. Shade jumped , and Parakeet shrieked," What are you doing here! You are too young and-" Barnacle interrupted Parakeet:"And I was fast enough to catch up, and smart enough to figure out a sleeping place!" Shade looked impressed and Parakeet looked very red and black. Sure enough though over a couple sand dunes there was the edge of Pyrrhia and a small oasis was there.
After flying for five minutes they reached the oasis and settled down for the night.
