     *~*~*~* Shadeclaw *~*~*~*

The night sleep was pretty good except for one thing. Shadeclaw's nightmares of the future. He seemed to have the same nightmare over and over. It usually went like this:
Shade was flying alone and cool air was nipping at his wings. He started to fall deep into the ground. It got colder, he was freezing his scales off. Shade plunged deeper into the rocky earth and he saw a dragon. As pale as a cloud.
               As cold as the ice.
              Covered in a shroud.
              Say this twice.
              Erupting. Exploding.
              Injured. Conjured.
             Dead. Death. Dead.Death........
The  dragon faded into bits of ash, then the scene exploded and blood dragons would fly from the sky shoot something at other dragons.
All these images would swirl around in his mind, it was the only thing he could think about besides the prophecy and Parakeet. It was thoughts of Parakeet that saved him from the worst parts of his dreams, Parakeet cancelled out the nightmares! He didn't even realize or mind what happened the next morning when they woke up.
----------------------------------------------

All was good. The air was calm and good for flying in, they were close to the Scorpion Den, and his tail was entwined with Parakeet's. Wait what! When did that happen! I— must have been thinking of it in my dreams , and I did it! Wait how will she react! Will she hate me? Will she ditch me?! Shade's thoughts were interrupted by the stirring of Parakeet . " Hmmf... Good morning? Ah, I'm still tired." Parakeet said lazily. Then she looked down and saw our tails together. Her scales turned a little pink and she turned her head away pretending not to notice, but Shade saw a smile creeping up her mouth. He couldn't help but grin. She might actually like me! He thought. Then the moment was ruined by Barnacle.
Barnacle had snored like she was roaring, and she kicked Shade a lot in her sleep. When she finally rose to her feet she saw their tails and made a huge funny grin. " Paraclaw! Paraclaw! Paraclaw! Tails entwined ! Grinning wide! Paraclaw! Paraclaw! Paraclaw!" Barnacle shouted , her grin getting wider, and she started singing again.
Did, did she just make us a ship name? Oh my moons! That crazy dragonet! Paraclaw. Paraclaw sounds good to me... Shadeclaw thought, he couldn't help himself for humming the tune along with Barnacle. Parakeet put a talon to her face, but slowly covered her mouth so she wasn't seen grinning like an idiot. Meanwhile Shade was having a real trouble trying not to smile too much, because his mouth was really starting to hurt from all his happiness.
---------------------------------------------

The group flew over bare desert for a little while, but soon they reached the Scorpion Den.
The sand was flattened out a bit , and unusual blocks paved the walkway. Along the edges of the walkway there were thousands of little shacks selling untrustworthy items. One shack was selling 'Animus touched rocks' that supposedly made you turn a different color for a week. Of course that was untrue though, because every time the shopkeeper touched the rocks he didn't change color. A little ways down the road there was an odd looking shack. It's sign read: Animus and Scavenger Items . " Hey, Parakeet lets go in there. It looks interesting." Shade said. Parakeet followed him into the shop, while Barnacle went to a shack with ink and paper.
The shack was fairly large, and looked more like a cave than a store. Every shelf was decked with odd objects, there was even a area with odd scavenger tools and items. There seemed to be four dragons running the place. One was a very fat SandWing that seemed to be the manager, another was a bejeweled SeaWing who was manning the trading station, another one was a really skinny IceWing with some of her horns chopped off and a bunch of things dangling from her scales. The last dragon was a RainWing. He had a huge scar under his eye, and a couple weird jewels imbedded in his scales. The Really fat one started walking over to Shadeclaw and Parakeet, and he looked very serious.
----------------------------------------------

"Hello, I'm Hamada and I'm the animus who runs this place. Me and my colleagues enchanted all these things. Here follow me, I'll show you my favorite." Hamada said . He lead them over to a shelf full of mangoes. Did he seriously enchant mangoes! Shade thought. " So, these are called Understanders. I enchanted a bunch of fruit so that when you eat them you can understand certain animals. These mangoes make you able to understand scavengers." Hamada said happily. Parakeet gave me a sideways glance that said is-he-joking? Hamada stated to talk. " These ones last for one minute. Come into the back of the shop so you can test them."  Parakeet cleared her throat and said,"Can we get our friend, so she could try too?" Hamada nodded his head with a crooked smile. Parakeet swiftly walked out of the shop to see Barnacle buying a couple of papers and squid ink. "Hey, Barnacle! Come see this." Parakeet said. Barnacle came over, her claws full.
Meanwhile Hamada seemed to take an interest in ShadeClaw.  " So... You are a NightWing. Any special powers? " Hamada asked curiously, poking his claw at Shade and scrunching up his face. Shade started to back up, and stumbled upon a wall , knocking over a blue potion. " WHAT DID YOU DO! YOU HORRIBLE LITTLE NI—" Hamada's wild screeching was interrupted by Barnacle and Parakeet's appearance. " Oh, hello follow me , the NightWing too obviously he can't be left alone," Hamada seethed.  As he led them into the back room he swung his tail, almost as if he was trying to whack Shade without anyone noticing .
" Here eat this." Hamada said handing each dragon a mango. Shade was about to stuff the mango in mouth, when Barnacle asked Hamada a question, " What is that thing in the cage?" She said clutching her ears. In the corner of the cage there was a small pale mass that was shrieking and squirming around. " Oh, that is Squeal my pet scavenger. When you eat the fruit you will be able to communicate with him," Hamada said. The three of them popped the mango into their mouth.
Instantly Shade felt like he was being burned from the inside. His stomach was turning inside out and he started to shriek like Parakeet and Barnacle. His scales were smoothing together and his body was shrinking soon he felt completely different and he almost fell on his face when he saw the others.
