Our Last Note - A Jeremy McKinnon Fanfiction

Part 3

I woke up buzzing the next day, excited to see both Jeremy and Rosie and to record backing vocals on A Day to Remember's new album.

Kellin and the boys would be striving to know what happened the previous night, and I was a little reluctant to tell them. After all, everyone was informing me that Zack Merrick liked me, and if word of Jeremy and I got to him there would be a scuffle. Great.

Jeremy took me to the recording studio in his slick car, and this time there wasn't an awkward silence. Instead, we chatted about Homesick and whether we should tell the guys what happened or not. Zack was going to be doing backing vocals too, and if he overhead, things wouldn't go down too well.

In the end, we decided that we would tell them before Zack got there. Simple. I figured it was the easiest way.

The rest of All Time Low were coming down as well, and Rosie would probably tag along with Alex. I knew they'd be inseparable by this point due to my infallible relationship with my cousin.

Once we arrived at the recording studio, Jeremy took my hand and led me inside. All Time Low wouldn't arrive for another hour; the boys half of that. I didn't care if Andrew saw us together. He was only Jeremy's boss, and he wouldn't really care that much to notice.

He wasn't even there yet anyway, but he'd probably arrive within the next five minutes or so. Until then, this was my only time alone with Jeremy until later.

"So what song are we doing first?" I inquired.

"The first one, you dick. The Downfall Of Us All," Jeremy teased. I mockingly pouted.

"Do you think we'll be okay with Zack today?" He questioned after a few seconds.

I nodded reassuringly. "Yeah, I'll just act like I normally do. Nothing bad will happen, I promise."

"I know. I guess I'm just annoyed that someone else loves my beautiful girl."

"You're too kind," I blushed.

"Never; I'm only honest." He lifted my chin and kissed me.

I wanted to burn and crush the butterflies in my stomach. I loved him so much. And now he was mine. Oh my god, I was so lucky.

Andrew stepped through the door in his usual cheery flourish, seating himself at his desk.

"Morning, you pair," he began, smirking. "What have you been up to while I wasn't here?" Andrew waggled his eyebrows suggestingly.

I rolled my eyes. "Dear god, Andrew, you make me wonder what you think we've been doing."

He laughed and turned to his desk, shuffling papers and muttering to himself. Jeremy and I simply chatted about random things until the other band members arrived.

We moved into the relaxing room and sat on some sofas casually.

"Um...me and Ember have something to tell you all," Jeremy began. I nodded along. They stared at us, obviously knowing.

"We're together now," I announced proudly. The others clapped and cheered, and Alex even sighed in relief. I chuffed at their overreaction.

"Fucking finally. It took a while," Neil laughed.

"Can I just say something? You two are so cute together. Like, seriously. This should have happened a long time ago," Kevin commented. I blushed.

"Aww, thanks, Kevin."

The others made a habit of congratulating us until All Time Low arrived. I told them to keep quiet in front of Zack, and they understood.

As I suspected, Rosie was with them, holding Alex's hand. They were so freaking cute together. I almost wanted to say Kevin's comment about Jeremy and I to those two, because it fit perfectly.

"Ember!" Jack ran to me and almost tackled me over in an embrace. I laughed and hugged him back. Rian was a bit more calm. Zack seemed way too happy to see me, though I didn't blame him, because I was about his equal. I hadn't seen him in five months.

"Zack, I have missed you so much." I strolled up and hugged him. He smiled broadly.

"Me too."

"Right then, guys, are you ready to do this?" Andrew asked us. Jack and Alex roared like idiots, and we all laughed. I bounded over to Rosie.

"Hey, congrats!" I told her cheerily. She just grinned. "Say, I need to talk to you before we start."

I told the others to set up while I chatted to her.

"So, have you got with Jeremy yet? Have you?"

"Well, um, yeah. That's why I wanted to talk to you," I admitted.

Her mouth dropped open. She asked that same question every time she saw me, and it had lost meaning because of it. It had just become almost a rite of passage to her.

"That was my reaction when I heard about you!" I chuckled.

"Oh. My. God. Ember. YOU'RE ACTUALLY WITH HIM?!"

"Shhhh! I don't want Zack to know yet," I put a finger on her mouth briefly I mumbled it. I dropped my hand back to my side after a few seconds. "Yes, I really am with him. He kisses me last night."

"Ember!" She hugged me tightly, squealing. "I'm so happy for you! You're gonna be such a cute couple! Can you imagine how gorgeous your kids will be?! If they're boys they'll have beautiful beards like Jeremy's when they're older an-"

"Rosie. Seriously. Calm the fuck down," I laughed. "Come on, we'll talk more later. We need to do this. And for now, hush. I don't want Zack to know yet. He'll freak out."

"Whatever you say," she winked.

Once we were back inside, I apologised quickly before we began.

It took us about half an hour to do two part of the backing vocals for The Downfall Of Us All because All Time Low were so fucking hilarious. They kept pulling stupid faces, pretended to hump each other's legs, and Jack and Rian put bras on over their shirts. Even Andrew succumbed to the giggles after a while. I loved them so much.

The day passed by in a breeze despite us not even finishing the first song. I was having so much fun. Jeremy came to join me after a while. He'd ended up in tears because Jack and Rian made him laugh so much.

"That's a wrap guys," Andrew told us finally, wiping a joyous tear away with a chuckle. "Same time next week. Maybe next time we can get something done!"

I said my goodbyes to the others as they left until it was just me and A Day to Remember.

"Hey, why don't we go out?" Josh suggested. "It's been ages since we last did."

We all agreed. I had to admit, a night out with the guys would be awesome, and it HAD been a good few months since we last did.

I just had to see Kellin first. But what the hell would his reaction be when I told him the news?
