Lucky and I start heading back to the ranch. Both of us soaking wet and smelling horrendous like two soared wet blankets. We get over the top of the hill and I look down and see a shinny black limo in the gravel and grass combined. Gosh it's time isn't it, time to say my final goodbyes and lock up my horse till next summer.
As I walk through the door I see a tall Caucasian women with dark brown hair held in a tight bun behind her head. She was wearing a business suit and a pencil skirt with black pumps. She was caring a rose quarts rolly suit case, probably mine.
Obviously I wasn't as sneaky as I thought I was because as soon as I walked in our Bernese mountain dog Chief came running towards me and if you know Chief then you know how loud he is.
"Ah finally could you be considerate and go look for my niece Amber for me. We have a flight to get to in a hour and we're already late." My aunt says shooing me away. She hasn't seen me since my parents death 10 years ago So she didn't recognize me I can't blame her.
"Sinclair that is Amber." My uncle says with sorrow and frustration in his voice.
"Oh well don't be a stranger dear come over her and say hello to your friendly dear Aunt." She says with inviting arms. But then she slowly steps back when she sees me up close. "Oh my gosh what is that smell and what happened to your hair your beautiful long hair?"
"Me and lucky went to the pond and things got carried away I'll go and change. Be right back." I say heading upstairs. As soon as I got to my room I looked in the mirror. She's right, my long brown and blonde ombré with blonde highlights looked like a pigs pen with hay in it. I quickly jumped in the shower and washed everywhere twice and my hair 3 times. I got out and dried off and put on some fresh clothes. I had my yellow and orange plaid shirt with some dark blue jeans( it's my nicest outfit) and some clean English ridding boots ( the ones I use for shows. Not me showing like competition but when we sell our horses I'm in charge of showing them off.) and I let my straight partly wet hair down and pull it up in a lose ponytail. I looked presentable.
I was walking down the stairs when I heard my aunt and uncle talking.
"5 years? Are you serious? Her whole life is here. You said only a year not 5 years." My uncles frustrated voice worrying me. I creep down and sit on the 3rd step not looking just listening.
"Do you honestly expect her to live here forever she was meant to be with me anyway. You were the one who bought her a pony to change her mind. She was supposed to be in my custody not yours."
"She was born on a farm she needed to be raised on a farm. And besides you were the one who decided to leave me. The custody was both of ours you were the one who had to make it difficult. She is going to hate this" That was the last thing I heard before running out the door and slamming it behind me. I headed straight for the stables. I had to go I had to leave I don't know where just away. Lucky was already saddled up from the last ride so I just climbed on up and and cantered out of there.
