It was the end of the day and I was looking for Arthur but couldn't find him. I sighed in frustration. I just hope he wasn't getting beaten up by Tom. I looked allover the school but couldn't find him. I saw Tom smirking at me. "You might go and check the locker room." He laughed. I ran towards it. I walked it to hear Arthur crying. He was curved up in a ball his shirt off. I ran towards him and took him in my arms. "Arthur. Oh gosh. What did he do?" He cried shaking his head. "Did he hurt you? Did he tell you to do anything?" I asked. He nodded. A tear fell out of my eye. "What?" He cried. "He told me to unzip his flyer with my teeth." He cried. I hugged him so tight. "He he touch you?" I said. He nodded. I cried. "You need to tell someone." He shook his head. "Arthur. That wasn't a question." He cried. I hugged him tight. "Come on." I helped him put his shirt back on. "Tell your parents." I said. He cried. I hugged him while calling his parents. His mum answered the phone. "I think you'd both like to come to school now." I said hanging up. Arthur stayed in my arms crying. I kissed his cheek. "It'll be Ok. Don't worry, babe. It'll be fine." I hugged. His parents were here in no time. "What's wrong? Why is he crying?" They said worried. I sighed. Arthur was to busy crying to answer. He had his back to them, and was holding me tight. "You know Tom, right?" They nodded. "Well, when he told him he was gay he started beating him up." They nodded. "But he stopped." I shook my head. "He didn't. When I came hear, I tried my best. I beat him up instead but..." I looked at Arthur. "He's threatening him. And he... He touched him where he shouldn't have. He also... He also asked him to unzip his flyer with his teeth." A tear fell. His mother cried. His father was just shocked. "Have you told anyone?" I shook my head. "Why wait now?" I shrugged. "I don't know. I'm so sorry. I failed you. I didn't protect him when I should have." His father sighed. "You did the best you could. You're protecting him by telling us now." I nodded. "Arthur? Charlie? Mr and Mrs. What are you all doing here?" The principal asked. I shook my head but his father told him everything. Arthur cried. I tried not to. "I'll call them right now. I'll call the police too." I held Arthur tighter in my arms. "Sir, I really don't want this story to be out in the open. If you could just tell the school they moved away or something." Jeff said. He nodded. "Of course." And the next few hours spent were with the police and Tom's family. They said they needed a written statement but he was going into an institute for 'troubled souls' as they said. His parents told him how disappointing he was, blablabla but I was really to preoccupied with Arthur to listen to them.
When we got home, he walked straight up to his room. I followed him. He closed the door behind him. I sighed and knocked on the door. "Go!" He yelled. I sighed. "Arthur?" I opened the door. "Go away!" I walked in. He lied down in his bed crying. I walked up to him. "Babe. Please. Don't cry. I hate it." I stroke his cheek. He turned his face away. "I hate myself!" He cried. I shook my head. "Don't. You don't hate yourself. Your beautiful inside and out. You could never hate yourself and you could never be hated." He cried and reached for my arms. I hugged him tight. "It's going to be Ok. Don't worry." I shushed him. He eventually fell asleep. I smiled sadly. I got up and left into my room.
I was awoken by Arthur's scream. I ran towards him to see him sweating. I frowned. "You Ok?" I kneeled down. He nodded. "I had a nightmare." He stated. I sighed. "I'll stay with you." He nodded and lied back down. "He was following me. I couldn't move. He was going to... You wouldn't come... I was scared... I kept on asking for you but you wouldn't move. I tried to stop him... He was to strong..." He cried. I kissed his cheek. "I love you." I whispered. "Go back to bed. I'm right here and will always be there for you no matter what. I'll protect you forever." He nodded. "I love you too." I smiled and moved his hair away from his eyes. "Go to sleep." I held his hand. He fell asleep. I got up and was about to leave but couldn't. He was already having a nightmare. I was so sad. I decided to stay on his chair. I took a cover and covered myself. I couldn't face not being there if he needed me. I soon fell asleep.
I woke up with a cramp in my neck. I groaned. Arthur was still sleeping and his parents too. I don't think we'll be going to school today. I walked downstairs and decided to make breakfast for Arthur. I took all the stuff I needed to make pancakes and started making them. I made some hot chocolate with it. I took a flower from his mum's garden, and but it on the side. I poured sugar on half his pancakes and nutella on the rest. The flower was on the right. It was blue and beautiful. I walked up stairs, the breakfast in hand when his father walked out of his room. I smiled. "Breakfast in bed for Arthur then?" I nodded. "He should rest a lot. He's rather traumatised." He smiled sadly. "It's not your fault." I nodded. "I know. But I wish I could have been there to stop it. It would have speared him the pain. Or I wish I was the one instead of him. I'd happily take his pain away." He smiled and tapped my shoulder. I walked into his room. Arthur woke up. I smiled. "Hey. Here's your breakfast." I said. He smiled. Or tried to anyway. "Pancakes?" I nodded placing the tray on top of him. "They look nice." I smiled and kissed his forehead. "Thank you." I smiled. "For what?" He sighed. "For being there for me." I smiled. "I'd anything for you, babe." He smiled and started eating. His eyes widened. "Isn't good?" I asked. "It's fabulous!" I laughed. "I'm glad you think so." He smiled. "I see you slept on my desk." I chuckled. "I didn't want to leave you but I thought you needed the space." He smiled. "Thank you." I kissed him. "I love you." He smiled. "Every nightmare ended up with you leaving me with Tom." He said. "I would never do such a thing. Never." He smiled. "I'm lucky it's just a nightmare." I smiled. "Yeah. You are." He smiled and kissed me.
The next couple of weeks were hard on him mostly. He wrote his statement and every time he'd go to sleep he'd have nightmares. They faded away but he was still hurt. You could see it in his eyes. We were practically back to normal though. It was Christmas soon and we had decided to invite the orphanage. Well... I asked and they accepted. I was really grateful. I hadn't seen them because we had cancelled all our plans but I had written letters and they said they couldn't wait to see me and my brother. I can't wait to tell them he's my boyfriend.
