Chapter 13

Nell gripped Callen's shirt tightly, resting her head on his chest. "I...I...I had a dream....Natalie tried to kill you....as payback for me telling my mom all that stuff that she had told me not to tell her."

Callen's heart softened, as he wrapped his arms around her, "Shh, it's okay. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere. I'm okay. It's okay. Shh..."

Nell cried quietly, before she pulled away, looking into Callen's eyes. "I'm sorry....I'm so much tougher than this."

Callen smiled briefly, "I know. You're tougher than me, and that's tough."

Kensi walked up to Nell and handed her a bottle of water, "Here. Drink this, it might make you feel better."

Nell nodded, "Thanks, Kens."

Nell took a sip of the water, before putting the lid back on and putting it on the floor next to her.

"Nell, are you okay?" Eric asked.

Nell nodded once again, "Um, yeah. I'm good. I'm just going to go for a walk."

"I'll come with you." Callen smiled, standing up and helping her up with him.

Nell smiled slightly, "Yeah, okay. There's someone that wants to meet you, anyway."

Callen frowned, clearly confused. "Who? You know what, never mind. I'll find out soon enough. We won't be long, guys. If you end up going somewhere, just send me a text and we'll come join you when we get back."

"Okay. Have fun." Sam stated.

Callen nodded to his parter, as Nell led him to the trail she had walked down the night before.

"Nell, are you sure you're okay?" Callen asked, wrapping an arm around Nell's waist as they walked.

Nell nodded, "Yeah. I'm alright. Just don't let go of me. Please."

Callen smiled, pulling her closer to him, "Don't worry, baby. I'm not going anywhere."

Nell smiled, looking up to Callen briefly, before turning back to watch where she was walking.

Nell led Callen to the little campsite where the elderly man and his family were sitting around the campfire, drinking hot cocoa and telling stories.

"Nell? Mom, dad, Micheal! Nell's back!"  Melissa yelled, running up to Nell and giving her a high five.

"Mom? Dad? Nelly brought a boy with her." Micheal stated, rather sadly, as he walked up to Nell and gave her a quick hug.

Mr and Mrs Whitkins came up to Nell and gave her a hug, saying hi and turning to Callen.

"Mr and Mrs Whitkins, I'd like for you to meet my boyfriend, Callen. Callen, this is Caitlyn and Jeremy Whitkins. And these are their kids, Melissa and Micheal." Nell introduced.

Mr Whitkins smiled, "Nice to meet you, Callen. You better be looking out for little Nell here. I don't want to have to break out my sling shot for anything other than a bird."

Callen laughed, "It's a pleasure to meet you, sir."

"You've done a good job, Nell. He's handsome and polite. It's hard to come across men like that these days." Mrs Whitkins spoke.

"Nell has a boyfriend now? Daddy, does that mean that I can't be her boyfriend?" Micheal asked, tugging on Mr Whitkins jumper.

Callen laughed, as Nell smiled and turned to the boy. "It's alright, Micheal. There will always be a special place in my heart for you." She stated, ruffling his hair, making him giggle.
