Nell was soon in surgery, with Callen waiting nervously in the waiting room.

A few moments later, his phone starting buzzing. He pulled it out of his pocket and recognised Sam's caller id.

"Hey, Sam."

"G! Hey, how is she? Has she had the surgery yet?" Sam questioned.

"She just went in about twenty minutes ago. The doctor said it could take up to an hour, without any complications."

"How are you holding up, G?"

"I'm fine, Sam. Just worried. That's all."

"Well, don't be, G. Nell is going to be fine. She will have this op and then everything will be okay and you won't have to worry about her being in pain or anything anymore. I have to go, Eric has found something. Keep me posted G. Let me know when Nell is out of surgery."

"Will do, Sam. See you." Callen finished, ending the call and putting his phone back into his pocket.

Callen sat in the waiting room, for a further fifty minutes, before Nell's doctor came out.

"Mr Callen?"

Callen stood up and walked to the doctor quickly, "How is she, doctor?"

The doctor smiled. "She is doing very well, Mr Callen. She's one tough cookie. The surgery was a success and Miss Jones is being moved to a recovery ward as we speak. From there, we will need to regulate Miss Jones, to make sure there will be no further complications, after that, she will be moved to a private ward, where we will keep her for a couple of days, assuming there are no further problems."

Callen nodded and sighed in relief that the surgery had been a success.

"That's great, doctor. When can I see her?" He asked.

The doctor smiled, "I can take you to her now, if you would like. However, she is still on heavy anaesthesia, so she will be asleep for the next hour or so."

Callen nodded, "That's fine."

The doctor nodded in return and led Callen to Nell's room. Callen smiled and thanked the doctor, as he walked inside and took a seat next to Nell's bed.

He smiled brightly, as he saw Nell's beautiful red-brown hair, tangled and sprawled out across her face, as if she was using it as a boundary for the little bits of light that was shining on her from the lamp that was on the table, next to her bed.

He carefully leant over and moved her hair out of her face, before reaching over and pulling the little string on the lamp, causing it to turn off.

He then leant down and kissed Nell softly on the forehead, before sitting back down on the chair and pulling out his phone to message Sam.

"Nell's just out of surgery. She's sleeping at the moment, as the anaesthesia wares off. She's doing well. The doctor said the surgery was a success."

"What did I tell you, G? I told you she was going to be okay, didn't I? Ahah, let me know if anything changes. The case we are working on at the moment is pretty straight forward, and we've almost closed it. I'll come and see you both on my way home."

"Cool. See you later, partner. Oh, and can you let Eric and the others know what is going on? I'm sure they would want to know."

"Sure, partner."

Callen then put his phone back into his pocket, taking Nell's hand and holding it softly, in his.

He looked into her closed eyes and smiled, thinking about how lucky he was to have her.

"I love you, Nell Jones." He spoke.

"I love you too, G Callen." Nell replied, opening her eyes slowly.

Callen instantly stood up and moved to her side, looking into her eyes and smiling widely.

"You're awake. How are you feeling?" He asked, stroking her hair out of her face once again, moving to stroke her cheek softly.

Nell smiled, reaching up to place her hand on top of Callen's. "Actually, I'm quite thirsty, do you think you would be able to get me some water?"

Callen nodded, "Of course. I'll be right back."

Nell nodded, "Thank you, baby. Oh, and can you make sure to get the bottled water from the café? The tap water here is no good. You see, there re are more than 80 regulated contaminants and more unregulated toxins, like the rocket fuel component perchlorate which are present in most tap water. "

"You got it, beautiful. I'll be right back." Callen smiled, shaking his head slightly as he walked out of the room.

"Oh god. I'm in love with a wonder twin."

The End.
