Chapter 15

They both walked back to the campsite, in relative silence, until the reached the campsite to see Eric and Sam sitting in front of the fire.

Eric had changed into warmer clothes and had a blanket wrapped around him, as he sat on a log, playing Mario Kart on his DS.

Sam was sitting opposite him, on his phone, probably playing candy crush or something, until he looked up to see Callen and Nell standing there.

"Sorry about before, guys. But for some reason Nell wouldn't stop trying to kiss me." Callen spoke, causing Nell to turn and punch him softly in the arm.

"It's alright G. However, I don't think Nell was the one initiating all of those over PG rated kisses out there." Sam replied.

Nell smiled happily at Callen.

"Okay, I don't know about you, but I'm going to go and get into some warmer clothes. I am freezing cold right now." Nell spoke, turning and walking to her tent, getting changed into some tracksuit pants, a black singlet with a picture of a rose on it and a big black hoodie.

By the time she had come out, Callen had already gotten changed and was sitting on the floor, with a blanket over him and his back leaning against a log.

Nell smiled, walking over to him, as he looked up to her and smiled, "Come here." He stated, holding her hand and leading her around to the front of him, as he pulled the blanket up, so she could sit in between his legs.

Nell sat down and leant back against Callen's chest, as he pulled the blanket over the both of them.

"Are you warm enough, baby?" Callen asked Nell, who just nodded in response, nuzzling her head further into his chest and pulling the blanket up.

Callen smiled, as Nell tilted her head to rest it against Callen's upper arm, as he wrapped both arms around her waist pulling her closer to him.

Nell smiled, looking at Callen, as he leant down and kissed her softly on the lips. He pulled away and Nell closed her eyes, with a satisfied and relaxed look on her face.

It wasn't long before Nell had drifted off to sleep in Callen's arms.

Callen turned to Sam, "Sam? She's going to be okay, right? Before, she said that there is always chances of failure within a surgery. I mean, she says hers is pretty straight forward and a simple procedure, but a failed surgery won't be impossible. What if she doesn't make it, Sam? I can't risk losing her. I only just got her."

Sam sighed, turning his phone off and looking up to Callen. "G, don't talk like that, okay? Nell is going to be fine. Trust me. The surgery will go smoothly and she will be out and about before you know it. Just stay positive. Everything is going to be okay. I can tell by the way that you look at her. You love her, G. And I've never seen you like this before. You two make a good couple. And that's not going to end any time soon. I promise you."

"I sure hope you're right, Sam." Callen stated.

"He's right, Callen. Nell is going to be fine. I can feel it." Eric spoke, finally looking up from his game.

Deeks and Kensi came back up to the campsite, only minutes later.

Kensi was on Deeks' back and he was piggybacking her. They were laughing loudly, which caused Callen to turn to them, "I don't want to spoil your fun, but could you please try and keep your voice down? Nell is sleeping. Probably for the first time since she found out her dad passed away and I don't want to wake her."
