A/N: You guys will HATE me after this chapter...I love ya, enjoooy!

Riley's POV.

I slammed shut my locker and turned around to face Maya. She was leaning against her locker with her phone in her hands, writing excitedly to someone. I frowned and sighed, trying to get her attention. Nothing. I tried again and again and again; still nothing. I huffed, nothing. I groaned, nothing. I even tried shrieking but still nothing. Whoever she was writing must have her fully attention 'cause I can't seem to get it.

I didn't give up yet though. I took up my hand and started poking her with my finger, trying to make her just look up at me. Not-hing. I groaned in frustration but kept poking her arm. "Maya," poke. "Maaya," poke. "MAAAYYYAA!" I screamed with my eyes shut and poked her harder. When I opened my eyes she was smiling at the screen in front of her. Really? Not even poking her, which she hates, and screaming won't make her look up? Who is she even writing to?

My thoughts got cut off when I heard her hum at me. I looked at her, her eyes glued to the screen. "Maya?" I tilted my head to see her face. "Who are you messaging?" I bend over to look who she was talking to but she was fast with taking her phone and put it against her chest, finally looking at me.

"No one." She shrugged like it was nothing, I arch my brow at her, narrowing my eyes at her. She gave a bored look at fake yawned. "Riles, seriously. It's no one. I'm just..." She trailed off, her nose scrunched; she was thinking. She started laughing, "Oh who am I kidding? It's Josh." Her face lit up after saying his name and my eyes widen.

"Josh?" I asked, confused but excited. Finally Josh had stood to his word and actually started messaging Maya. My still didn't know about Josh's feelings towards her and it killed me to keep that big of a secret from her but I had to, I'm not the one who should tell her; Josh is. "Wait, so you and him are actually...talking?" Her brows knicked together and she looked confused. I rolled my eyes, "Messaging. I mean are you messaging!"

Her eyes widen in realisation and she nodded excitedly. "Yes! I know, I'm surprised too!" She was smiling widely and the glint in her eyes told me that she was feeling butterflies in her tummy. I smiled at her and she continued, "I don't know why, but he started messaging me last night and we just ended up writing until 3am. I was sleepy, believe me, I could've fallen asleep at any point but every time he wrote, I felt the adrenaline kick in, you know?"

Actually, I didn't know. But I nodded, excited for my best friend. She deserved to be happy and if Josh makes her feel happy, then I'm okay with that. Sure, it's kinda weird; your best friend and your uncle. I'm not against it or anything, to be honest I kinda ships it. Like, really really ships it! "What if he asks you out, huh?" I wiggled my eyebrow at her and she rolled her eyes but her smile grew wide at the thought.

"He wouldn't ask me out, Riles. You know that." She slipped her phone into her pocket and we started walking to class. I frowned at her and that she actually could think that, I mean, yeah sure she doesn't know Josh actually likes her but she shouldn't be having that thought. He might even have the guts to ask her out, who knows?!

"What if he does?" She gave me a raised eyebrow and her best 'really?' - look. I narrowed my eyes and smirked at her, challenging her. "How much do you want to bet on?" I took up my hand and waited for her to grab it, making a deal. She looked at my hand and at me before taking it with a sweet smile.

"Let's bet on...the biggest banana split bomb!" Maya said with a glint of awe in her eyes. She really thought she would win this, didn't she? We shook hands on it and we both smirked at each other. Now, all I had to do was make Josh confess for her. He shouldn't keep this from her; he likes her just as much as she likes him. If not more. I just hope he does tell her instead of chicken out, it would make both unhappy if they kept their feelings locked up inside of them. No one should do that.
