Riley's POV.
Lucas had walked away with Auggie towards his room for some odd reason. I had a feeling they would talk, obviously, but it had taken quiet a while.
"Riles!"
My head snapped towards the two familiar voices behind me. They were standing next to the couch with their arms wide open, waiting for me. My face lit up and all my worries about Lucas and Auggie vanished once I was in the arms of my two best friends.
"Maya, Farkle." We broke the hug and I smiled at the, widely.
"There is a strange man in your house." Maya whispered to me while pointing at Robbie who was seated in the middle of mom and dad.
I chuckled and took Maya's finger, "It's discourteous to point at people, Maya." She pouts at me, waiting for me to tell them who he is. "That's Lucas's dad."
"Robbie Friar."
Maya and I turned to look at Farkle with confusion all over our faces. He was smiling but once he saw the confusion Maya and I were wearing his smile fell.
"You know him?"
"Yeah," he shrugged with an awkward laugh. "I've been at Lucas' house a few times since we become friends."
"Oh," I said. I was a slightly confused about this, since I had no idea Farkle hangs out at his house. It's not that I'm not okay with it, because I am. But I was just surprised seeing as Lucas has t really mentioned his dad around us.
"How about his mom?" Maya asked and an awkward silence fell over us.
Farkle looked at me with sadness in his eyes, "Maya can I speak with you?" She nodded and Farkle cleared his throat. "Alone?"
"But Far–"
"It's okay, Maya." I smiled at her and patted her shoulder. "You go, I'll wait here for Lucas."
Once Maya and Farkle walked off to the bay window, Lucas and Auggie finally came. Auggie was first with coming up to me. He smiled.
"This cowboy is a keeper, for sure." With that he walked away.
I turned to look at Lucas with my eyebrows knicked together but he only shook his head, "Long story."
"Oh, well I've got time." I smiled up at him.
He rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Okay then," he took my hands in his and we locked gaze with each other. "Your brother was telling me how much he cares for you and that he doesn't want his big sister to be sad. He loves seeing you happy and he wasn't happy with what I did to you. He told me how it broke him to see you hurt that way and he also said, loud and clearly may I add, 'Don't.Hurt.My.Sister.Again.'"
My eyes were wide and I didn't know what to say except, "And you said?"
At this he smiled, "I told him, loudly and clearly, that it was not my intention to hurt you and that I love you, Riley Matthews. That you're the only girl I have ever told that to, the only girl I've used those three words to. The only girl in my life that makes smiling worth it. You make me happy and you changed me for the better. You lit up my world, you made the grey turn bright colours. And I told him that my love for you is Pluto. That I love you just as much as you love Pluto, Riley Matthews." He kissed my forehead.
He loves me. He has told me a lot of times that he loves me, but never has he ever said it like that. He has never told me why he loves me and right now, when those words left his mouth, everything was beyond perfect.
"I love you too, Lucas. And I don't have that kind of speech for you but what I do have is this; you made me stronger, Lucas Friar. You made me go through rough times, heartbreak, hate, sadness and most importantly love. You broke the happy girl and you made her do something she has never done; hate. You made her cry but you made her smile. You broke her heart but you fixed it too. And you made her hate but you also made her love." I saw guilty in his eyes and I knew he felt bad for what he had made me go through.
