"Wait, so he's proposing?" David questioned, eyes wide.
Winter laughed. "We think so."
"How do you know?" Taylor asked.
"They've never been on a formal date, like, ever," I explained.
"Their first date was literally pizza and video games," Winter added.
"Talk about relationship goals," Finn joked.
"Hey, we should get Kara over here, I'm sure she'd love this!" David suggested.
Winter and I exchanged smiles. Those two were so crushing on each other.
"Since when are you and Kara friends, David?" Winter wondered out loud, trying to sound like she wasn't assuming things.
"Well, I mean, at the party, we got to talking and well, y-yeah," he shrugged, getting flustered, a slight blush forming, "Uh, I-I'll call her."
We all laughed and David stepped out of the little circle we were sitting in.
"Please tell me you all think David has likes this Kara girl," Jenna spoke up in her thick australian accent.
"Oh we don't think," I said, "We know."
Everyone laughed, but we quieted down when David came back.
He squeezed back into the circle and said, "She's on her way."
The time spent between our group flew by and we soon heard the front door open upstairs. We all stayed quiet and simultaneously eavesdropped whatever was going on upstairs.
Winter jumped when David's mom shouted down into the basement, "David! There's a very pretty girl named Kara who's here for you!"
David blushed again and yelled back, "Send her down!"
Kara came down the basement stairs, wobbling slightly in her high heels. She joined us in the circle. "Ah, so this is where you hold your satanic rituals."
"Actually, that's in the garage, this is just David's room," Finn joked.
"This is where he takes all of his conquests."
"More like victims."
"Shut up guys," David interjected, his cheeks a bright red.
We laughed, and I spoke, "We're terrible friends, we know, but we might as well have fun with it."
Kara giggled. "So, what's the drama David told me about?"
"We think Matt's going to propose to Autumn; we're almost completely sure!" Winter explained.
"Really?"
Winter and I nodded. "He's even taking her to some fancy dinner."
"He's never done that!"
"What if he's breaking up with her?" Jenna spoke up.Everyone simultaneously shushed her, but Winter just shook her head and disagreed, "If he were going to break up with her, he would have been blunt. He's not one to fool people."
Kara nodded in agreement. "He's too nice, he wouldn't lead her on like that."
"I'm going to agree solely because I trust Kara's opinion." David 'subtly' slid closer to the dark-skinned girl, causing a couple giggles. "I don't even know the guy."
"Wait, how long has it been?" I asked suddenly.
"Since when?"
"Since Winter and I got here?"
"About an hour and a half, why?"
"Winnie, check your phone. Maybe Autumn texted you." I tapped her arm repeatedly until she pulled out her phone.
"Alright, alright, damn." Winter laughed, pulling out her phone. There was a moment of silence while everyone anticipated. We all jumped at Winter's sudden squeal. "He proposed!"
Everyone cheered and Winter grinned. I love how her eyes get all crinkly when she genuinely smiles. It makes my heart warm.
I looked at the texts Winter had received and giggled. "David, looks like you're stuck with us for the night."
"Why?"
"Because my sister is getting some tonight!" Winter announced through her laughing.
"Look! It even says: 'Winter don't you dare come home because Matt and I are having some fun, and it might be a while until it's quiet again," I elaborated, trying to hold in a giggle.
Kara groaned. "I love your sister and all but I do not want to hear about her sex life."
"Yeah, why don't we talk about something else?" David said.
"Fine." I rolled my eyes, maybe a bit bias towards Winter. "Jenna and Taylor, it's almost your three year anniversary right?"
Jenna nodded. "Yup, on the 27th."
Winter gasped. "That's in like, a week!"
"I honestly can't remember a time when you guys weren't together," David pointed out.
Taylor smiled, "It feels like just yesterday this new girl, who came here all the way from the other side of the world was shamelessly flirting with me after being at school for less than half an hour."
Jenna laughed. "What can I say? If I see a pretty girl I'm not going to hide that shit."
We all laughed along with her, and we soon fell into a comfortable silence.
"You guys know what else is coming up? My birthday!" I stated, kind of just remembering.
Finn gasped. "Oh that's right! We have to throw you a party!"
I shook my head and replied, "You don't have to."
"Too late, I'm already planning it," David shrugged. With that, the matter seemed to be dropped.
"I love you guys, you know that right? My entire high school experience would have been a piece of crap if it weren't for all of you," I said out of the blue.
"I would have had no one to get lesbian gossip from if it weren't for you, Jade," David struggled to hold in a laugh when he said this.
"Um, what do you mean lesbian gossip?" Winnie questioned, somewhat fearful.
I chuckled. "That's what he likes to call it, but really it's just when I talk about you."
"Oh so you talk about me?"
"Sometimes. It's mostly because you're all I think about."
Finn made a gagging noise. "You guys are so mushy it's gross."
"I think it's cute," Kara spoke and Finn just rolled her eyes.
"I love you guys together, but really, save it for the bedroom," Finn said.
We all laughed and a comfortable silence settled upon us once again. All I could think about were how amazing we all were with each other. I love seeing Winter become more and more apart of my world. Not only were we all loyal friends that have been with each other through thick and thin, we've all stuck together even though we're all so different and unique. Different personalities, appearances, and pasts, but we all come together to fit like a puzzle. Each piece of a puzzle is different, but necessary and fitting in the end. That's us.
