| Winter Alexander |

The past week with Jade has been possibly our best. I think knowing that in less than a month we would inevitably be torn apart, we knew to focus on the now. Jade and I were getting ready for our senior prom, and I couldn't feel more content. Autumn was forcing Jade and I to change in separate rooms, even though we had already seen each other's ensembles. I suppose it must be because of our age and the nature of our relationship—can't really blame Autumn. I was wearing a dress that matched my eyes, according to Autumn, and had a lovely high to low hem—one of my favorite things. Autumn had spent nearly two hours doing my hair and makeup, much to my dismay. I had yet to see how Jade looked, but I was sure she looked even more beautiful than I was accustomed too. I took a deep breath and looked in the mirror and Autumn, whom had been sitting silently on the bed behind me, clapped excitedly.

"Oh my god, Winter! You look absolutely gorgeous!" she smiled. I'm pretty sure Autumn was more excited for this than I was, "C'mon, Jade's waiting for you!"

I exited the room with Autumn behind me, and Jade was standing by the couch with the biggest grin. I swear her jaw dropped to the floor when I walked out. No words were said as she walked over to me and gave me a soft kiss on the cheek.

"You look stunning," she whispered in my ear.

"You too," Jade was wearing a suit, and I have never seen anything as beautiful as she is right now.

"I love you, Winnie."

"I love you too, now c'mon, I think the limo is here."

Jade smiled and grabbed my hand and we were about to leave when Autumn stopped us, "You guys are not leaving without photos."

Jade and I groaned simultaneously, "Do we have to?"

"Yes, absolutely, now pose."

Jade and I immediately went into the typical 'arms around the waist' pose. Autumn snapped a picture and Jade and I went to leave.

"Really that's it?" Autumn complained, pouting.

"That's all you're getting," I said before opening the door, leaving the apartment with Jade behind me. She grabbed my hand once again as we made our way to the limousine waiting outside the complex. When we opened the door, David, Kara, Jenna, Taylor, and Finn were all waiting for us, "Why are you guys making poor Finn be the seventh wheel?"

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with showing up to Prom without a date, Winter," Finn spoke up with a laugh.

"Whatever, let's go," Jade said as we both settled down.

"God I hope nobody spiked the punch."

"Why not?" David asked.

"Because one, it's incredibly cliche, and two, last time I got drunk was not fun," I explained, with a small laugh.

"Why? Was it because I left you high and dry?" Jade chuckled, giving me a kiss on the cheek.

"Absolutely," I turned my head to catch her lips, earning groans and fake gagging noises from our friends.

"Can't you guys wait until we get there to make out in a corner?" David asked and everyone laughed.

I broke away from Jade to giggle, but she only pulled my face to hers again, flipping of the group. I melted into the kiss and Jade did as well, and I couldn't help but feel so utterly in love with her in this moment. When we were together, I never thought about the past or the future, only right now, with her. Fuck, I was so in love.

"You guys are gross," Jenna laughed once we finally broke apart.

"Can't stop the love!" Jade exclaimed with glee, "I'm sure you would know Ms. I've been in a devoted relationship for three years."

Jenna just stuck her tongue out, and Taylor kissed her on the cheek. "I think it's cute, they're like us when we were in that stage of our relationship."

"Whatever." Jenna just laughed, and the subject was dropped.

The rest of the ride was spent with not much conversation—mainly just useless banter, but we were content. Prom was being held at one of the fancier hotels nearby, so once we got there, Jade and I couldn't help but act like we were on the red carpet. Which I guess was alright considering the theme was Hollywood. (God, our school was so cliché.)

"Let's live this night like it's our last, Baby," I whispered in her ear as we exited the limousine.

"It practically is."
