IT REGISTERED WITH Allison that Jasper was yelling. She noticed moments later that Edward was yelling back at him. The noise was suddenly very loud in the brunette's ears as Jasper drove erratically. Allison blinked and noticed that the jeep was driving down a familiar route; the route to she and Bella's neighborhood. Allison frowned as the jeep passed her house, her mom's car in the driveway.

"He'll forgive you," Edward was telling his girlfriend as she jumped out the jeep and made her way toward the front door.

Allison was silent as Jasper tightened his grip on the steering wheel. What was going on? The girl wondered to herself. Though she soon had her answer as Bella came storming out her house, obviously restraining tears. She's leaving, Allison thought to herself again.

"Am I leaving too?" The brunette broke the silence between her boyfriend and herself. She would want to see her mother if she was, but she decided that Jasper wouldn't let her. A call would suffice, her mom would understand, hopefully. Though that thought seemed stupid when she thought it through, why would my mother be okay with my little disappearance act?

"Yes." Jasper's voice was clipped as he drove behind Bella's familiar red truck. Allison noted that he seemed very angry, though he had reason to be. Her jaw locked, eyes staring ahead as a quiet anger swept upon her.

Allison noticed that her hands were shaking slightly from the adrenaline of the situation. The couple pulled into the Cullen's driveway and Jasper was at the passenger side, pulling her out of the jeep before she could blink.

Jasper pulled her into the house and they were met with the sight of Laurent and Carlisle. Jasper snarled, immediately placing himself in front of Allison before the human could react. The brunette noticed that Edward had the same reaction.

"Wait!" Carlisle cried as he threw his hand up in protest. "He came to warn us about James."

This didn't calm Jasper much and he was still snarling. Carlisle gave the brunette a pleading look, silently begging her to soothe Jasper. Allison reached her hand under his shirt and placed it on the cold skin of his back as she felt him relax slightly at her touch.

"This isn't my fight and I've grown tired of his games," Laurent spoke. "But he's got unparalleled senses, absolutely lethal. I've never seen anything like him in my three hundred years. And the woman, Victoria, don't underestimate her." He brushed past Edward and Bella as he strode out the door.

"Oh, that sounds promising," Allison snapped out of habit, rolling her chocolate colored eyes as Jasper pulled her into the garage. Allison sighed in annoyance, she was getting fed up with Jasper pulling her around like a rag doll

"I've had to fight our kind before. They're not easy to kill..." Jasper said as Allison sat down on the hood of the Volvo and he walked toward a cabinet, Emmett following behind. Allison was briefly reminded of when Jasper told her of his time with Maria, but she quickly brushed her thoughts away and focused on the task at hand.

"But not impossible," Emmett pointed out, his tone optimistic. The vampire flexed his muscles threateningly, causing Allison to release a small snort.

"We'll tear him apart and burn the pieces. I don't relish in killing another creature, even a sadistic one like James." Carlisle spoke as he collected money from the cabinet, his tone somber and his voice low.

"What if he kills one of us first?" Rosalie asked as she sat on the counter, voicing Allison's thoughts.

"I won't let any of you die for me. I won't let you die for either of us," Allison's voice was strong, her hands balling into fists at her side as she looked at each of them. She stood from her seat on the Volvo, crossing her arms over her chest.
