BELLA AND ALLISON had managed to sneak past Alice successfully and the duo was now exiting the cab that had taken them to the ballet studio.
"I think I'm gonna be sick," Bella murmured as she gripped Allison's hand tightly. She noted that Allison's hands were cold, per usual.
"Um, can you not make this situation worse by puking?"
Bella pulled pepper spray out of her pocket and shook it. She noticed the extremely doubtful look Allison was giving her, "Yes, I realize it won't help much."
Allison and Bella walked into the door of Mimi's, the ballet studio, and each took deep breaths to calm down. The room was empty, as far as Allison could tell. Allison twisted the ring on her finger, seeking the comfort it provided her.
"Bella! Bella!" The sound of Bella's mother's frantic voice reached their ears. "Bella? Where are you?"
"Mom! Mom," Bella began running toward the sound, Allison behind her. The taller girl grumbled lowly as she chased after her friend.
"Damn fool," Allison's voice went unheard as Bella slowed to a stop in front of the doors. She skidded behind, almost slamming into Bella.
"There you are," Renee's voice sounded as Bella opened up double doors, revealing a TV set with an old home video on it. Bella gawked at the screen, backing up slowly as Allison gripped her shoulders tightly in her cold hands.
Allison stopped, putting two and two together. "Bella. Bella, let's go. Now." The curly haired girl pulled her friends arm, tugging harshly as she began to walk backwards. Bella winced slightly as Allison's ring landed harshly on her bone.
"I don't think so, petit chasseur." James appeared behind Allison, not giving her time to comprehend what he called her, before he spoke to Bella. "That's my favorite part. You were such a stubborn child." Allison racked her brain, trying to remember the French courses that her mother had forced her to take. Little hunter, Allison realized as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"She's not even here." Bella stammered as James pushed her into a wall. Allison's body tensed, instinct preparing her to spring. Her muscles coiled, her upper half lowering slightly.
"Sorry," James apologized to Bella. "But you really made it too easy," He continued as he eyed Allison somewhat wearily. Though, in her mind, the vampire had no reason to really fear her. But, she reasoned, maybe he can see that undoubtedly crazed look in my eyes.
"So, to make things more entertaining, I'm gonna make a little film of our time together." James held up a camera, "I borrowed this from your house, I hope you don't mind. And action." His voice was annoyingly sardonic, she noted.
"It doesn't sound like you care very much if she minds or not," Allison sneered, drawing his attention to her, giving Bella a moment to escape. Bella, not seeing the opportunity, only stayed still as James focused the camera on Allison.
Allison glared at the man, unblinking, "Oh, that'll break Jasper's heart. Knowing you stayed strong in your last moments." He spoke sarcastically as Allison curled her lip at him. The girl coiled her muscles further, body sinking into a crouch instinctively as James began to approach.
"Last moments," Allison chortled, "As if." James smirked, tilting his head. He whirled suddenly, no longer advancing on Allison as he walked back toward Bella. Allison growled lowly, shocking herself, at his sudden change of course.
