A hurricane causes destruction, and wreaks havoc. A hurricane is dangerous, and people fear it. However, the hurricane is not at fault for the destruction it causes. A hurricane cannot control it's path, only the ocean can do that. A hurricane, much like a human, only wishes to survive. A hurricane strives to live, even if only for a limited period of time.

The eye of the hurricane is said to be it's calmest point. If the eye of a hurricane was taken away, the hurricane would be complete and utter power. Figuratively, the hurricane would have no path, because the ocean could not control it if it had no weakness.

She was a hurricane, the raging and dangerous storm, and he was the eye of the hurricane, the calmest point. Take away the eye, and all that's left is power.
